This hotel reopened in 2008 after many years of being closed, followed by extensive remodeling. Previous guests in the 250 year history included Napoleon and Konrad Adenauer. Located in the small village of Kronenburg atop a hill (and next to the ruins of the Kronenburg fortress), it provides an elegant setting for special occasions or business meetings.
The menu offers a good selection of dishes (I had a great steak) and tasty desserts. The breakfast buffet offered bread, rolls, meats&cheeses, eggs, cereals, juices for a good start in the morning. Conference rooms for business meetings or seminars are available. There's also an outside pool and wellness area (sauna) for more relaxing activities. The rooms include a suite on two levels, or with included sauna. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
If you have the time, try to arrange a twilight tour of Kronenburg by torch light. read more
