Both our burgers were dry and tasteless, so we were glad for the toppings. We loved the fries and the order of Tater tot nachos. Both a solid 5 stars! The service is great, but the location is a bit hard to find. It is located in an old mall with no signage to tell you where to go. We ended up calling and they directed us in. The drinks were ice cold, the service was incredibly friendly, and it was awesome to see so many young people working together--busing tables, helping each other out, and keeping everything running smoothly on a busy Saturday. I could tell how tough it was by watching him try to cut it. I had a chicken wrap. I've never had a wrap that was grilled after filled so the lettuce was warm and wilted. The fries were good, though. A couple of other disappointments. My husband originally wanted the chili listed on the menu and they didn't have it and we wanted to watch a game in the Big 10 network and they didn't have that either.

The restaurant definitely has a charming old-school, hometown vibe, and I can appreciate that. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't for me. I ordered the loose meat sandwich "with the works." What I received was seasoned ground beef and onions on a bun with a single pickle and a squirt of mustard. That's literally all it was. I took two bites and couldn't finish it. I understand it's a regional specialty, but it wasn't something I enjoyed at all. I also ordered a chocolate shake. It tasted more like vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup added than a properly blended chocolate shake. The syrup wasn't mixed evenly, so most of what I tasted was chocolate syrup. The service was okay--I'd give it about a 3 out of 5. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the staff was friendly enough. Overall, I'm glad I can say I experienced it, but I definitely wouldn't make the drive from Omaha again for it. In fact, even if I lived nearby, I don't think I'd come back. The old-school atmosphere was the highlight of the visit, but for me, the food didn't live up to the hype.

The restaurant was empty but I saw workers at the kitchen having a good time talking and laughing. I reviewed the menu and then waited and waited. No one came to take my order. I ended up leaving. It was probably the first time I felt so unwelcome at a restaurant in the US. Not sure why, but I really hate to think it's because I'm Hispanic.
