An upscale and hip burger and wing spot in the center of a European city, what's not to love?!…read more We popped in as our last meal in Switzerland and were extremely grateful for the staff to allow us to eat even though we didn't have a reservation. (Note: make a reservation if you dream of eating here) After looking through the menu we started with the house-flavored wings and LOVED them. In fact, my wife thought they were some of the best she's ever had! We then both had burgers and shared fries. The portions are very well-sized and I don't think you'll leave hungry. The flavor and food quality helps with that aspect as well - both are top notch! The ambiance is super chill while maintaining an upscale fit and finish. On a nice day you could even eat outside at their tables, would be a wonderful treat given the little square it borders. A word of caution: prices are at a premium (even for Switzerland). I'm a fan of Wolf and couldn't recommend it enough for lunch or dinner. Get a reservation for tomorrow and thank me later.

The sandwiches are fair size and come with all the fixings you want or plain if that's your thing. Both had good flavor and were cooked just right. They are also a brewery. I had the in house Wolf Beer pale. It had good body and went down easy.

I'm American and I've had In-N-Out Burger so of course I'm a little skeptical when I see animal…read morestyle French fries. First....you must make a reservation!! Unless you don't mind eating outside in the dark with all the smokers. Second....expect to wait a long time. This isn't a fast food restaurant so grab a beer and wait 45/60 min to get your food. Third... Switzerland is very expensive so this restaurant is no different. 2 burgers, 2 alcoholic drinks, and French fries were 98CHF which is pretty much 100 bucks. They have 3 sauces for you to try. Ketchup- Tasted like marinara sauce. BBQ- Tasted like smokey ketchup. 1000 island. Tasted normal. Burgers were great. They were juicy and delicious. Animal Style French Fries were a good try. Def not like the original but so far from home it was a nice find. This restaurant isn't for Americans. Way too expensive for what we eat all the time but I compare this place to the Melting Pot in the US. That place is so overpriced but it's amazing to get your cheese fondue fix. I can't imagine Swiss people coming to the US and eating at our expensive version of cheese fondue. Service was ok. It was super busy so can't really complain but I could tell our waiter was super annoyed with our audacity of showing up , with no reservation, and willingness to wait. And for some dumb reason you can't order "The Threesome" (or Hattrick) with a group of 5 people. 4 apparently is ok but we had 5. Cannot imagine why if 3 people order the same thing it's an inconvenience for the restaurant but DON'T DO IT or again your waiter will show his annoyance.

Arrived with no reservations; great food, good wait times, highly recommend! Everything was to our…read moreexpectations

The inside would've been…read moretoo warm and stuffy (though they did have a fan running in there to help circulate the air). Was served almost immediately, so A+ for service, which remained pretty attentive throughout the evening. Interior is typical of your Swiss "American roadhouse" style diners, with lots of pictures of famous people on the wall. Nice ambience, though. I was pretty bummed that I couldn't have the burger with a bacon and a sunny-side-up egg (don't remember the name of the burger), as it was available only from Mondays-Wednesdays. Ah, well, next time! Anyway, I did order the Venice Beach (coleslaw, onions, bacon) - and I have to admit, I've never, ever thought of putting coleslaw into my burger, but it works well! Their coleslaw is also pretty good, which is worth a mention because most places can't make it right. The burger itself was not bad, though I found the bun to be a little much and took away from the taste of the burger itself. Had onion rings (really good) and garlic dip (good too), but what's really worth a mention are the sweet potato fries - which were absolutely fantabulous. They were a little thicker than I was used to, but were somehow perfectly crispy and tasted so good! To top off the evening, I tried some of the American cheesecake, which at CHF 8,50 is pretty steep, but oh my god, I have never had better cheesecake in this country! It's a little lighter than your actual American cheesecake, but this isn't a bad thing. The texture, consistency, and taste were still there. The graham cracker crust was a little more mushy and grainy than what I'm used to, but now I'm just nitpicking. All in all, would definitely recommend.
