Service was good, feel like the owners son who took our order and put in the fries. Yay work Ethic. We shared a large Donair Poutine. I personally did not like the donair sauce but as a Californian I've nothing to compare it to. The fries, gravy and cheese were on point! Sad I'll never be back, glad we made the time to stop.

I stopped for a light lunch at this Harvey's location recently. This Canadian fast food chain serves up grilled burgers (Original, Double Original, Great Canadian), grilled hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, grilled veggie burgers, chicken strips, fries, onion rings, poutines, salads, l'il kids combos, Pepsi fountain pop and milkshakes. They are also featuring the Great Canadian Pulled Pork Burger on the menu. I wish they offered a Pulled Pork Sandwich (without the burger patty). The prices for most individual sandwiches & burgers $3.99-$6.79 (hot dog $2.69) and you can combo it with fries and pop for $2.50 more. The sandwiches/burgers are made to order with choices of toppings. Since I was not very hungry but it was lunch time, I got a L'il Original Combo ($3.99 plus HST) with Fries and Diet Pepsi and no toy. The burger came hot off the grill with grease covering the patty, placed on an open bun and topped to order with my topping choices (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, & ketchup). The greasy burger patty was average with a very firm and very chewy texture. The overall taste of the burger was good. The fries were okay and not too greasy. The service seemed hectic since the place was fairly busy with a steady line of customers.

But yummy just the same--and I don't know what they do to the onions, which are somehow both grilled and still have a bit of bite to them, but they were just about perfect. When it was my turn to order, I ordered a poutine amongst other things. When they started making my order, they put the order that had been sitting on the counter in my bag. I had to ask them to please make it fresh. They immediately threw the original one out. Now, if it is something that you immediately throw out, why would you try to serve it to a customer? Also, I ordered Mozza sticks. The lady at the cash upsold me on them. Good for her. I love Mozza sticks. However, when they started packing my food, they pulled them out of a warming drawer. They should ALWAYS be made fresh. It's the only way that the cheese is stringy. I was too frustrated to ask them to make them fresh and took them home. It's a very short drive. The Mozza sticks were lukewarm and terrible. What a disappointment. I don't recommend eating there which is unfortunate. Their dining room makeover is lovely but the food is sub par.

It was a longer drive than expected, but that was our choice to make. We both ordered fish & chips since it was all you can eat on a Friday night. However, the first portion was so generous that we did not need any more. The quality was only so so. Not bad, but not great either. It filled our bellies at a modest price, so no complaints ... but we were not blown away either. The server was kind and attentive but did not know much about the beers. She just gave us a chart to pick from. So ... if you wasn't someplace just to relax and grab a bite, then this will do the job.
