The girl apparently does not understand McRib pronounced in English. She asks me fried or grilled (in German). Confused I answer grilled 'cause it ain't fried. Then I see the register display with chick grill. No, I say, McRib. A colleague tells her McRib. I apologize and say I don't know how to say it with a German accent. Perhaps "Mäck Ripp". She gives me attitude. I advise her that you always have to be friendly at McDonald's. That's the American way. She informs me we were in Germany, and she does not have to be friendly to rude customers. So I tell her since we're in Germany my answer to her is "Vielen Dank, (enter expletive)". Now it's my fault that she can't pronounce the items for sale at her restaurant.
