Dirtiest burker king ever yet. One of the workers was sweeping the floor with rancid water and made the whole place smell lıke fungal toe nail. Go eat somewhere else. read more

Our party of eight arrived and was seated in a very long table with the bench and some chairs were quickly attended to by an excellent friendly Staff willing to be patient with our local translator. The menu and food here has improved over the years and is now an authentic Kumpir restaurant one of the best around as far as I could tell for the short time we were there. Two of us split a really excellent baked potato with with the Mediterranean salad, accompanied by an assortment tray of fresh squeezed lemon juice, olive oil, and a dressing. Although the potato with cheese, jalapenos, olives, etc., was by itself well prepared, we did add vegetables (mushrooms, carrots, etc.) from another plate to increase the portions for the two of us. Along with the salad, which was also well prepared, and with the fresh dressing we were well pleased with the result. Although we are not sure if it was the size of our party, our elderly member, or the impending wedding, or a combination of all the above...the staff went out of their way to ensure we were satisfied. They even threw in free Turkish Coffee or tea after our entrees. Well recommended. We will return during future visits to the University.

The decor is quite nice but leans towards the flowery end of the scale. We were there on a Friday evening and it was completely packed with families and couples on dates. They have a very attentive team running around serving tables. The fish is on display in the central area for patrons to view and choose from. The appetizers are nice and cover a good gamut of tastes from olive oil vegetable dishes to classics like humus and calamari. We ended up ordering a wide variety of things and sharing. The main attraction here is of course the fish and, do they know how to make it well! I ordered the "lufer" which is akin to the bluefish in the Atlantic, because it looked to be the freshest out of all the other fish, which were not in the best shapes. Out of the fried or grilled choices, I went with the grilled as that serves this type of wild fish the best. You may be a bit spoiled if you are expecting to get fresh fish in a landlocked city like Ankara, while the closest sea is 4 hours drive away. But, since Ankara is pretty much equidistant from all the seas around Turkey, they do get a nice variety. Despite the lack of freshness, the "lufer" came out perfectly seared with crispy skin. The delicately cooked insides were oozing flavor. The prices are on the high end of the scale with about $50-$60 per person. I would regard this place among the ranks of 3 stars because of the (lack of) freshness of the choices and the disproportionate prices.
