The place lures in those missing home in the US, where nostalgic 1950s diner-style eats can be found almost anywhere. And, of course, anyone hankering for this food or curious about it.
I wasn't even hungry, but after a few weeks in France, and not even thinking about food back home, I was caught.
The interior is as you would expect, though with a fast-food vibe.
I ordered one of their hefty cheeseburgers.
It tasted weird. I chalked it up to one of the stinky cheeses you could find in France. So I continued, eating more than half of it.
Later that day, I started to feel kinda tired but chalked it up to the extreme heat France suffered through then.
The next morning, I was exhausted and later a bit delirious. More symptoms showed up. It was food poisoning. You know the rest of the drill. Needed antibiotics to get rid of it. Went seven days with only eating the BRAT diet and then only bananas and rice.
I'm not the only one who has suffered from an awful meal at Burger Killer. The name is literal. Avoid at all costs. read more
