I tend to avoid burger spots because they either don't have vegan options, or the ones they have…read moredon't really do it for my taste buds. But it was a Saturday night, just past midnight, and the fellow and I were craving fries. Kaiser's had already closed, so making them at home wasn't an option, and instead we ducked in here.
There are lots of interesting options (and a good five or six vegetarian burgers, which is nice). As far as fries, you can get regular fries, potato wedges, curly fries, etc. So there is definitely some variety. We each got a portion, which came out to €3 or so. The fries themselves were fine--nothing to write home about, but they were hot and fresh. The ketchup is also the standard off-brand kind that tastes a little funky but nothing terrible.
Inside was clean enough--one of the employees was very quick about cleaning up the mess customers had left at a table. The music was pretty awful, but not unbearable, just your standard boring pop played at a slightly too-loud volume.
All in all, not a bad spot. Don't expect fine dining, but if you want choices for things to eat, particularly when you've got a late-night craving, Burgersteig definitely delivers.
