(Last visited 11/11/2021.) So while hanging out in Lyon for a couple of weeks on business my…read morecoworker found this place via some Google'ing and I am so elated that he did! Let me tell you why I paid this place a visit twice in 3 days! Atmosphere/Appearance: Right among the cobblestone streets in the surrounding downtown area is this gem. It's a lil' hidden and is only distinguishable by either looking through the big windows or the lil' sign that hands right above the stone archway. The interior design carries in that older European architecture that's present right on the outside. There's lots of stone everywhere, big picture frames, a small bar at the back of the restaurant and the see-in kitchen to the left. There are only a few tables so be sure to have reservations or some good luck! Lol. Service: Stéfane (@stf_nws on Instagram )is the owner/operator/chef/bartender/everything. Lol. He was SO FREAKING COOL and so chill. Despite having to literally do everything in the restaurant, he did it with a passion, with style, with flare and with love. You could just tell he put his soul into this restaurant and into this food. Food: On both of my visits I went with their big gourmet plate. I can't remember the official name of the plate, but it was gigantic. Lol. It comes with a plate FULL of smoked goodies! Beef ribs, pulled pork, sausage, chicken and the choice of 2 sides. For my sides I went with the beans and side salad. My goodness. Everything was FANTASTIC and smoked to perfection. I don't even wanna single anything out, but the ribs FLOORED me. They were so incredible juicy, smokey and full of flavor, but you can't go wrong with any of the components of this meal. Value: I can't remember the exact amount, but I believe my plate was around 35€ and absolutely worth it. In conclusion, do I even need to tell you how much I loved this place? It was intimate, tasty, affordable and gave you such a great experience. I can't wait to visit this place again!

He found a table for us even though the place was booked solid. Make reservations. Our meals were fantastic. The burger was a chef's creation and superb. The mixed meats plate was enormous and also superb. Don't skip his cardiac fries. Not typical fries. They're chunks of potatoes maybe fried, roasted, or sauced. I don't know. But they were magical. Don't skip them. Not much English is spoken, so we muddled through with Google translate. We ate what the chef suggested and we were thrilled. New World Smoke is a true hidden gem. Glad we found it.

Well, we got lucky and found this place. On the corner of this beautiful large square, we got a table. It was a bit late, and they had run out of lasagna and some other Italian dishes. So we ordered a pizza, salad and hamburger. It was really good. I wanted to get a pizza for myself but settled for a shared pizza. The burger was like when we were kids. Tasty, a bit greasy, and cooked perfectly. The pizza was almost like a NY pizza. Maybe I was hungry, who knows, but it was good. Salad is salad. Dressing was also good. This place hit the spot. Glad we found it and that we got to eat there. Great location. Good atmosphere. Great for people watching. And all around good food.

Actually, the view from outside the pub is pretty amazing, especially since you can see the Hotel de Ville, and one of the many amazing fountains that you tend to find across Europe. However, as for the pub itself, it's also pretty awesome, considering that the service was great, and they had a pretty good selection of beers as well. Actually, yeah, they were pretty cool to be honest, and it is definitely a place I would have no problems returning to.

She just turned 12 last week and so with so much joy and excitement, they went to the cafe. The woman (red-haired) opened the door with NO smile, NO friendliness and even after my husband said with so much joy that our daughter was 12. Guess what her reaction was? She said, "Is she really 12?" She was mean and gave terrible customer service. Why would she start with such distrust when he just said our daughter was 12 and had been waiting for a year to come? On the other hand, there was a woman with dark hair who was VERY kind. She smiled and welcomed them and the customer service was excellent. She explained about the cheesecake, different types of milk, etc. We have lived in France for almost 7 years and are TIRED of awful service. Please tell the dark-haired worker she did a great job and ask the red-haired woman to consider her actions because it brings down your reputation. We hope to have a better experience next time.

The cats were lethargic and all sleeping until we were about to leave near 7 pm when a few got up from there slumber to head to the back were they are feed. The pecan pie looked appealing but that is were it ended. It was not sickly sweet like an American pecan pie but was more like a tart thickness, boring and without joy sim it up They do have a fee based upstairs coworking space which I thought was cool, perhaps WeWork could learn a trick or 2 from them but otherwise I will cross this of and move on Perhaps we were unlucky but if you do want to visit make a reservation and try to get to get there when the cats are active

Atmosphere - Small place, truly a neighborhood bar. The place is covered with the little metals signs that make you smile when you read them. They even had a disco ball in the corner. Food Drink - Maredsous Triple, Belgium beer. The beer list was good. Some beers I can get in the states, others I never heard of before like the beer I am having tonight. Dinner - This a burger bar. I went for the burger named for the place, Rem. My French language skills are nonexistent and the menu was only in French. I ordered the burger named after the place, it must be good. And I was not wrong. I was pleasantly surprised with the fried egg on top. I do love so gooey eggness on top of my burger. The bun was a little different than I am use too but I enjoyed it. Service - Our waiter was good, his English was not perfect but his smile and laughter made everything better. Future - Sure

And boy do they live up to being gourmet standard! I started off with the Mexican burger. Just the right balance of flavours. The bread was delicious, the meat cooked exactly as requested and perhaps the best fries I have ever eaten! As it turned out I had such a nice time at Rem's bar (the staff were excellent hosts attentive, funny and a great source of information) that I ended up eating dinner there too. Time for a second burger. This time the cheese. If possible it was even more delightful than the first. Finished off with a slice of amazing chocolate cake (pictured) and several pints of Guinness. (The Guinness was kept perfectly by the way and tastes just like home!) If you find yourself slightly away from the centre of Lyon, or just want to taste the best burgers in France then I would recommend walking off the beaten track and seeking out Rem's bar you wont be disappointed!
