Waiting out the rain with a beer...
Jerry M.

I ducked in here to get out of the rain and had a delightful beer and a plate of calamari. The calamari is served with three sauces and if those are not to your liking, there is a legion of more sauces of all types on the table. Especially like the local hot sauces. They have outdoor seating. The wait staff are friendly and english is spoken here. Good choice for a snack and a cerveza.

Weekday beer special

"Burger Bar" has burgers, ribs, barbecue, and inexpensive beer. It's open for the late in the evening, which is welcome in a town where many restaurants close at 6 PM. The best deal was the basic burger with blue cheese for 110 pesos. I had another blue cheeseburger for 140 pieces. I was not able to discern the difference. Meat Patty is half a pound. These burgers are just great. The barbecue is pretty good too. In the evening this place gets busy. Recommended

Kiwi drink

This has to be the best burger I've had in a while since Hopdoddy's in Austin, TX. Yeah-- it's been that long. I was pleasantly surprised after picking an 1950's styled American restaurant in Mexico to get such high quality food. I am a native Mexican, but I am now a Texan so burgers are almost as natural as Tacos. That evening at Burger Bar Joint we ordered what anyone might expect at a TGIFs, the list is as follows: -The Classic Burger -Chipotle "buffalo" wings -Kiwi drink w/ Tequila shot -Bubble Gum Shake -Mangorita. While the items keep their classic American and Mexican touches, they deliver with taste and quality. Their take on buffalo wings with a spicy chipotle sauce is definitely to die for and NOT to share. Meanwhile, the drinks were all unique and not too sweet just enough to keep you happy. Lastly, the burger was small but cooked to perfection. The meat is juicy the cheese is savory and everything is fresh. So if you're tired of the tacos ( which you shouldn't be), and want a bite of something close to home but still has a Mex twist. I definitely recommend this joint.

After spending many days in Mexico City-eating tacos and tortas and various Mexican delightful…read moreentrees,I just felt like having a burger-so I jumped on Yelp and found the best spot in Roma Norte and stumbled upon Butcher & Sons. This restaurant was just a short walk from my hotel in Roma Norte-along the walk I think I counted 4 or 5 Michelin rated restaurants on my path-they are everywhere in Mexico City. When we arrived at the restaurant they seated us right away and I noticed how great the atmosphere was in the restaurant-this was for sure a date night or celebratory type of place-I wouldn't say fancy or upscale but definitely a step up from my restaurants I went to so far in Mexico City. Upon sitting down we started with a couple of really pretty cocktails-. Strawberry Fields-A gin drink that is a refreshing twist on a Negroni-I enjoyed it very much and may have been the best cocktail I had in Mexico City.($185.00) Margarita De Perlas-a tequila drink with lime and orange infusion topped with pearls of tapioca-It was a great spin on a margarita with the added slightly sweet taste of tapioca pearls-decent drink.($220.00) For dinner we ordered a few items. Bowie Burger-a burger featuring a top sirloin and wagyu cross patty topped with Swiss cheese, roasted poblanos, bacon, guacamole and tortilla chips-This burger was so delicious-perfectly cooked and seasoned,so juicy-it was spicy but incredibly flavorful -loved it.($275.00) Curly Fries-Perfectly seasoned, super crunchy-very tasty ($85.00) Caesar Salad-well made salad with great tasting dressing and crunchy croutons.($130.00) This place is a very special restaurant in a city that is filled with special restaurants-I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mexico City, specifically the Roma Norte neighborhood-a true joy.
