Some days you walk in and it seems like World War III has just occurred with items strewn all over the place and the store in general disarray and in need of cleaning. Other days, things are fine. Also, I have witnessed on-going issues with stores being understaffed and customers having to endure long lines. This time, I wanted to just "wait and see" if this one would be different. I am pleased to say that during my subsequent visits to the store, I have found it consistently clean, organized and well staffed. Yes! When you enter, you will be warmly greeted and welcomed. The store still seems to be transitioning to the cooler weather so it wasn't as well stocked, (but neither were other stores that we visited), so in a couple of weeks they should be up to speed and ready for holiday shopping. A couple walked in shortly after, and a salesperson immediately approached them while completely bypassing me. This was almost identical to my previous visit, where I was only asked if I needed help as I was walking out the door. I don't expect constant attention, but a luxury-focused store should at least offer consistent, basic customer service to all customers. It's hard not to feel like assumptions were being made about who was worth assisting. I'm sharing this so management is aware, because every customer deserves to feel welcome--not overlooked.

Visited the store a few weeks ago and had an overall pleasant experience, HOWEVER, as I was going to leave, the way the manager spoke to one of her associates irked me beyond belief. Pros: An older gentleman greeted me when I walked in. A young blonde girl asked me if I was finding everything alright, which I appreciated because I was not... She got me some help and a sweet young lady, I think her name was Maggie, helped me find exactly what I needed. Cons: The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the supposed "manager" or "supervisor", (who I genuinely thought was a customer due to the lack of her name tag, but figured out it was an employee because of her earpiece), walked behind the counter as I was leaving and was audibly condescending to a young man that was folding clothing. This put my stomach in a knot because these employees were exceptional. It's unfortunate that Carhartt is okay with higher-ups to treating their employees like this, let alone employing managers with a short temper and dwindling worth ethic. We stopped by to get a pair of walking shoes for my husband and BINGO! We found the perfect pair. I purchased a pair last summer so I just browsed the store while my husband looked for his sandals. This store has a little bit of everything, shorts, tops, jackets, socks and other items. With their products, there is no substituting style for comfort because their clothing is so cute and wearable with great attention to detail. The off season is a perfect time to stock up on items because in addition to the already reduced prices, you also get an additional discount. So this is the perfect time to purchase those divine wool socks that are so cozy and comfortable. Columbia is a great store for the entire family to get outfitted for those outdoor activities or simply for comfort.
