The guys do excellent work and the environment is clean and friendly. The prices are beyond reasonable. The last few times I've been there I was able to walk in with a relatively short to no wait time but I did get there early. If you want to be assured an appointment you might want to call ahead. As with any good barbershop they do get very busy. These guys do awesome work and I never leave disappointed in my cut. FYI there is on street metered parking so be sure to take some quarters. From the barbers to the customers to the beauty shop filled with ladies getting their hair did; makes it a place where you can come and relate to somebody. Share experiences and help lift each other up in certain aspects. I always believed you may never know what you could learn by just listening in to a conversation at the shop! And that is what this barbershop is all about. I've seen this place from different views over the years. One story comes to mind. When I was in kindergarten, I was bullied. Like a lot of us maybe were. This bully would pour sand in my hair from the sandbox. He would do this to me everyday, and everyday I was down at the shop having to get my hair washed. After a week of this going on, my mom grew upset at having to take me everyday. So my barber gave me some advice that now is a life lesson; stick up for yourself! The next day in school at the sandbox. I confronted the boy and told him to leave me alone with a clinched fist and he never bothered me again! Now, being an adult I see what affects a barbershop like Kool Kutz with a rich culture of folks, can impact children and young adults of a community. It is essential for this place to be family friendly, so people can feel welcome to come socialize, encourage, teach and learn from one another. I came here because i have to be on camera tomorrow and my old barbershop shut down due to covid. I…read morecame in for a trim. A TRIM. I explained when i came in that it had been awhile since my last haircut and just needed maintenance, and I even showed them a picture of what i normally get. What they wound up doing instead was cutting off ALL the hair on the sides and back of my head. About 3lb of hair that took me a year to grow, now just gone. The guy who had me in the chair was incredibly rough and pressed so hard with the razor that i was bleeding above my ear my ear when i got home. At one point the guy, who i assume owned the place cuz he was the only other one there, stepped in and tried to so damage control, but kept telling the one who had chopped off my sides that it was MY fault for not being descriptive enough. Now i have to govon camera with a hat tomorrow and I'm gonna have to spend the next several months looking like a character from Trailer Park Boys. DO NOT GO HERE THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEYRE DOING.
