Staff was friendly but the crowd (largely elderly and coughing) in the waiting room was unsettling. 50 minute wait is unacceptable. Once in the room, loud 80s music is audible from the desk outside. The room and building are new, but the patient chair is old and taped in parts - not classy. Care is competent and friendly, but not worth the time and distance. The physician assistant (PA) was great, but the doctor didn't really explain what he was doing, and that I'd have to come back multiple times - important to set clear expectations, especially in medicine. Decided not to return for parts 2, 3 and god knows how many more, and probably would have just left if I understood the proposed treatment.

A tip on getting there: drive PAST the building with the number of the beast on it (minus 50) before turning in, and don't make the mistake of listening to your GPS to turn into the building before her office building. If you're on foot, note that the front door of the office building is (inexplicably) locked. Once you find it, her small office is cosy and neat: but what's REALLY neat is that there's really no waiting! How often would you come upon that in any medical facility, huh? Dr. Crigler got some X-Rays done, did an exam of my ailing bits - we decided to monitor, and bang, I'm out of there in just a little over a half hour! The only thing was my prescription was NOT called in - I went to CVS for nothing, and days later, still no call saying prescription is ready for you! I need to find out what happened with it.

Worst experience ever. This podiatrist was a horrible waste of my time, and it cost me much more…read moremoney than I ever anticipated. I write this not to rant, but as a public service. Imagine that you are a man on a fixed income, with Medicare. You discover one day that you have problems caring properly and comfortably for your toenails. You decide you should see a podiatrist. You've never seen a podiatrist before, so this is an entirely new medical experience for you. Checking your medical plan's in-network providers, you pick Seema Fatima DPM (in Orange City, FL) and make an appointment. Little do you know that this new experience would end in great financial pain. My office visit in April was very short. Dr. Fatima spent about 10-15 minutes with me in the exam room (that is my estimation of the time), even though this was my first visit with her--and my first visit with any podiatrist. She said a few words to me and then looked at my feet and toenails; she then proceeded to clip a couple of nails, placing the clippings in a small plastic baggie. Without telling what she was going to do with my nail clippings (more on this later), instead said she wanted me to fill a prescription for a medicated foot bath. The prescription was for a compounded medication from a pharmacy in Tennessee. A phone number was provided on the written prescription she gave me. Then she said goodbye and left the room. That was the extent of my brief meeting with Seema Fatima DPM. A med assistant came in shortly thereafter and trimmed my toenails. Later, at home, I phoned the Tennessee pharmacy to inquire about the prescription foot bath. They wanted $95, and it would NOT be covered by my Medicare plan. I declined the foot bath. That's the summary of my visit in April. I thought it was strange that she chose an out-of-state pharmacy, when a local pharmacy surely could have done the same compounding. But wait, there's more. Now it's August, and I received a bill in the mail from another out-of-town provider--this time a medical lab--for $500! This, they proclaimed, was my share of a $1,125 bill for "Surgical Pathology, gross & microscope" plus "Special stains, etc." That was where she sent my nail clippings. Surprise! And the out-of-town lab was NOT in my network. I was never advised of that very expensive lab expenditure and would not have agreed to it--or at least would have demanded an in-network provider had I been properly informed. I have my own suspicions as to why Seema Fatima DPM would send prescriptions and lab work to out-of-town (also out-of-state) and also out-of-network pharmacies and laboratories, but I will not voice those suspicions here. Can you guess why I refuse to return to Seema Fatima DPM as a podiatrist? Think carefully before you make your choice of podiatrist, especially if you want to avoid financial harm. Although the text of the Hippocratic Oath does not contain the exact phrase, the very heart of the oath is summed up in "Do no harm" and in the physician's duty to use medicine as a tool for healing, not for hurt. Shame.

His office is nice, warm, and comfortable. It didn't feel like your usual "cold" doctor's office. Dr. Roth came in the room and was so gentle and very thorough. He explained exactly what was wrong in terms I could understand. He patiently answered all my questions. His suggested treatment was a Cortisone shot in my foot and wen he did it, I didn't feel a thing. It also worked. It's now been several days and I've had no more pain in my foot. He did say it would eventually wear off and I would need another shot, but I am happy to see Dr. Roth again. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Roth if you are in need of a podiatrist! Dr. Kim was recommended to me by a nutritionist who worked with me in Alaska and I have no doubt that he is a great doctor. My rating is not for the doctor himself, but for the practice. I did not get to see Dr. Kim. I arrived about 45 minutes early for my appointment and knew I'd have some paperwork to complete so wanted to allow time for that and traffic. My husband was with me. We were greeted and welcomed and I took my clipboard to fill out the forms. Everything was great. Then the receptionist started talking to my husband and me. And she talked. And she talked. We responded to some of her comments but they were lost because she didn't stop. Friendliness is great. But this led to me walking out after about 50 minutes. Detailed stories about patients and how the receptionist had to "lecture" them about being accountable and following their diet. Very personal details about their conditions and history, treatment and response. I'm sure she thought she was advertising for the business. After just under 50 minutes and a little after the official start time of my appointment, I turned to my husband and said "There's apparently NO patient confidentiality here." I decided I didn't care to be the topic of the next conversation for the waiting room. At least not all my test results, recommendations and whether the receptionist thought I was a 'good patient' or not. I certainly don't want to be lectured about being accountable. First of all, I'm not five years old. I also don't care to be called "skinny" repeatedly. When you've been unwell and lost some weight, it's not exactly a compliment. On the basis that I have no confidence in the practice holding any kind of confidentiality, I decided to leave before I was called in. It's a shame. Dr. Kim is a recommended practitioner who does NRT, which is not easy to find. However, the lack of respect for privacy left us reeling in disbelief.
