I visited this cozy warm and friendly shop on a visit to Liverpool in early August 2010 on the way to Southport and it didn't disappoint. It's not that the food's horrendous or anything; I've never finished a meal from their and got food poisoning or something like that. It's just...not that good, and in an area like Maghull where good chippies are only a short walk or drive away, it's just not really worth it unless you're close. They offer the usual selection of chippy food such as fish and chips, sausages and pies, as well as the usual reasonable selection of Chinese dishes but there's nothing here that stands out enough for me to recommend it over any of the other takeaways in Maghull. Its prices are pretty cheap, so I guess that could be a reason, ut for just a little bit more money you could be eating even better food just a bit further away.

It was fast food and nothing fancy, but now I understand why they're known for this combo! I would categorize it as comfort food. The weather was a bit gloomy and rainy, and this was the perfect food for that sort of weather. I was fortunate to find a small table near the back of the place to enjoy the food. I wish that there were places like this back in the States, but all we have that's similar over in the US are Long John Silver's and they're not very good.
