Bundeena is a hidden gem inside the Royal National Park. While driving through the Royal National Park, turn left at the sign for Bundeena and follow the road for a good 15 minutes till you see a carpark and a beach.
On weekends, you can hire a Kayak on the beach itself. Bundeena Kayaks opens up a Kayak hire every day except Mon and tue, when the water is suitable to enter. Which means pretty much every week except during July in winter, you will be able to hire a Kayak. Stand up boards (SUP) are also available for hire.
The rates are very cheap and you can hire a single or twin kayak on hourly basis. It is $20 for an hour and about $50 for a half-day hire. Because the hiring is directly on the beach, you don't have to drag or carry the kayak very far and you can reach water in under 15 seconds!
Bundeena is a bay which means the water is very gentle and calm. No big waves, therefore very easy to paddle. A great place for beginners and kids.
Tip: In case you forget to bring sunscreen, bundeena kayaks has a huge bottle for you to slap on. They will also hold on to your car keys and other valuables. I had left my gucci sunglasses and smartphone with them..Collected them after 4 hours with no problem whatsoever. read more
