I have eaten at Prime Burger Company's other restaurant on Birger Jarlsgatan in Stockholm and…read moreenjoyed it quite a bit. The visit to this new location was, however, not giving me the same level of enjoyment. We were five guys. The entire table ordered milkshakes as starters while we waited for two more guys to show up. The milkshakes took forever to come and when they did come they were lukewarm and melted - like they had been ready for 20 minutes standing in room temperature while the waitress was busy forgetting about them - they didn't have that thickness you want milkshake to have. A real disappointment. Then we ordered burgers. I wanted to try something different so I chose a pulled pork sandwich. It wasn't so much a sandwich since it came in burger buns. The bottom bun was soaked in pork juice and within minutes the paper that it rested on was too. I started to get wet paper shreds stuck in the food as I cut my sagging mess of a pork sandwich apart with fork and knife. Yuck. Then it was time to pay. I paid more than my share because we all wanted to chip in and cover for the fellow in our company who was the birthday boy. The friend next to me did the same thing before the waitress explained that anything we paid in excess of our share of the bill was automatically registered as tip and there was NO way to get that money to become payment for the bill. What an utterly useless system. If someone complains about the food, the restaurant can say the food is on the house - so why not just give the birthday boy the food without us having to pay for it and then later transfer money from the "tip account" to cover for it? Well apparently there was nothing anyone could do - I had involuntarily paid a rather hefty tip for a dinner experience that didn't even deserve any tip. Boo.

I knew something was off when they didn't have a burger with bacon on it. So I ordered one with cheese but with two burger patties. My sister ordered a regular. We were almost alone in the place when we ordered and still the food was slow (although not unacceptably slow). Food came out and it was packaged in quite a unique manner (fries in a bag, burger in a sideways bag) which of course made it memorable in its own way. However, my sister realized after eating half of her burger that she was eating mine (the double). So apparently, without asking, they had given the 5' girl the double burger and the 6' guy the regular - way to avoid gender stereotyping! But seriously, they couldn't have asked "which one of you ordered the double?" when they came out with the food? Not a single one of our combined three burger patties were pink in the middle, so they clearly don't know how burgers should be cooked. Cardinal sin right there. The bread buns were pale - in fact so pale I found it less appetizing. Are they even done in the oven before they take them out? Of this is a "thing" I'm missing the point. Fries were unique but not in a particularly good way - they are generously seasoned which I like, but the potato strips are so thin that the frying procedure have shriveled them up completely. A quarter of the content in the bag of fries is just small, leftover pieces of potatoes that have been so aggressively fried that they're completely inedible. You can feel yourself getting cancer as you force yourself to try it. All in all, not a good burger experience - not at all. I would come back under gunpoint. Maybe.

WOW. After 10 months…read moreliving in Stockholm, disappointed by every burger I've had (Even when visiting Norrköping), I've finally found a burger worth trying again. I recently moved to Kungsholmen and noticed that this place was just a few minutes away. When we decided to try it, I was a bit apprehensive. Even Texas Longhorn, that was so hyped up by my boyfriend, wasn't that great to me. I walked in and the smell was heavenly. I'm a NYC girl who loves Shake Shack, and the smell reminded me of my beloved shack burger. The decor is very 50's, and I thought it was pretty cool. Many places in Stockholm try too hard to be modern, so this was a refreshing change. The staff was super friendly and helped us choose a beer to drink, since a lot of them were unfamiliar to me. I had "Den Goden" burger, which had bean sprouts, spinach, yellow beet, and avocado. I sat down kicking myself because I realized that the combination just sounded ABSURD. I was a bit scared to try it but once I did, I was so happy. The meat was DELICIOUS, just the perfect amount of moistness and flavor. The bun was a potato bun (I think?), a bit soft for some tastes, but I prefer this kind of bread on my burgers. The flavors of the toppings weren't strong, but the avocado added a nice creaminess that was super pleasing. I also had disco fries, but I was a bit tired of them since my burger was so filling. They were pretty tasty though, and would probably be better if shared. I will definitely be back here. The prices aren't cheap, but this is Stockholm, and they aren't really expensive either. I think it's totally worth it for a good burger and a beer. (P.S. I see all you Flippin Burgers enthusiasts in the reviews-- I'm trying that next!)

First, I want to say that you shouldn't go here at lunch since you will only get the buffet - where they fry your burger and you put whatever you want on it from a bar with bowls of onion, tomatoes, BBQ sauce etc. It is practical - allowing the chefs to just keep making burgers without taking special orders into consideration. And maybe DIY appeals to you, but you won't get the most delicious burgers this place has to offer - that's for sure. After 4 PM they start serving the burgers on the menu - "The Good", "The Bad" and "The Ugly". Each with its own distinct concept and set of unique ingredients. These are different from the regular "cheese burger" and "cheese and bacon burger", and very worthy of being permanent menu items. The burgers are always grilled to perfection with a pink center. If you want a spicy burger, go try "The Bad". If you want to try a novelty style burger, go get "The Ugly" which has mushrooms and other unexpected ingredients!
