My wife continues to be scarred by the level of care she received from Vaya. It's been over a year…read moreand we still are working through it. I truly could not recommend her less. Shes flippant, flighty, and does not advocate for her patients. We were supposed to see her for a wellness check during a hospital stay. Hours went by. We finally talk to the charge nurse. We track down Vaya. She decided to go home instead because she was getting a package. If you want a doctor that understands and respects you, look elsewhere.

I was initially drawn to Dr. Tanamai's practice because of her high ratings, convenient…read moreavailability, and the beautiful office in Laguna Hills. Unfortunately, my experience with her fell far short of expectations. Over the course of several appointments, a consistent pattern emerged: she is abrupt, cold, and lacks the empathy and attentiveness that are essential in an OBGYN. Dr. Tanamai frequently rushed through visits, interrupted me mid-sentence, and seemed more focused on her computer screen than on engaging with me as a patient. She rarely made eye contact, didn't create a welcoming or safe environment, and often made me feel dismissed and unheard. Her communication style came across as rude and, at times, gaslighting; leaving me to question whether my concerns were even valid. For example, I had a valid concern for back/pelvic floor pain, and she immediately told me it's "a hip issue" and after seeing a physical therapist; it was not "just a hip issue." Therefore, this is my point that she dismisses you and cuts you off mid sentence to avoid any further discussion. What's most disappointing is that the quality of care felt secondary to efficiency. As a patient, I was seeking thoughtful, compassionate, and patient-centered care. Unfortunately, I found Dr. Tanamai's approach lacking in all of these areas. I hope this feedback serves as an encouragement for her to reflect and improve how she interacts with patients. Every woman deserves an OBGYN who listens, connects, and genuinely cares. Sadly, that was not my experience here, and I would not recommend her to others. Overall she is just impolite, and doesn't have genuine intentions to be kind or helpful. It's very important to find a quality doctor to deliver a precious baby and it should be a beautiful process of getting quality care, to feel safe, to feel heard and ensure that your doctor attentively listens and validates any and all concerns. 0/10 "doctor" and she should review some ethics and proper bedside manner from actual doctors that are highly rated.

I called back to verify that it was a total of $400, because a friend felt that was low. They said that it was total $400 out the door. To my surprise, I am being billed another $250. I called and told them I had verified. After not getting a call back, I called again. The office manager called me back and after I explained the situation, she said that they had made a mistake "because they are only human", but there was nothing they could do about the extra bill. I reiterated what she said to me (they made a mistake but they wouldn't fix the mistake) and she said "this is the medical profession, not retail. We don't fix things in the medical profession". Then she proceeded to tell me that I don't have to pay it, but that they will just send it to collections. She had a raised voice, and was interrupting me every time I tried to say anything and was 100% unprofessional. She sounded like she was in her 30's without much life experience. Dr. Wallace seemed knowledgeable and fine. (When she inserted the pellet, I wasn't numbed all the way, but she immediately fixed it and it was a fine experience.) Ultimately, I don't think the pellet is rocket science - you cut, insert and bandage it. But since they are expensive, the price took me to Dr. Wallace. The truth is - I would have gone to Dr. Wallace for the next 10+ years for a pellet. But her receptionist was rude and defensive, I never got a return call on my first inquisition, and her office manager was ready to fight with me as soon as she did call. I won't be returning. And I have a sister, mother-in-law and sister-in-law who have already made appointments with her. Plus several others who I have given her name to. Pretty sure not one of them will be going....because I told them it was only $400! Dr. Wallace - your staff is a disservice to you. Customer service is still essential! I did my due diligence, was wronged, and nothing was rectified. I'm not into the bait and switch - that is a used-car lot move!

After a four-year fertility journey with many ups and (mostly) downs, I was very anxious throughout my pregnancy about something going wrong. I also had significant, daily physical discomfort (including nausea throughout all nine months of gestation!). From my husband's and my very first appointment, we were impressed with Dr. Kurtzman's office. They were able to schedule us around our travel plans for our first visit. The scheduling/administrative staff members are very efficient and great at getting back with patients swiftly about both scheduling matters and medical questions requiring the doctor's input. They effectively multi-task and are very invested in positive patient experiences. When you call the office, you speak to a real human located inside the building! No automated phone system, portal-only care, or extra hoops to jump through blocking you from receiving timely care. When I once needed to speak to the doctor about a time-sensitive matter on a weekend, I was able to promptly contact him by phone without any issues. The physical office itself is spacious, impeccably maintained, and beautifully furnished. Medical and nursing staff, including the sonographers and personnel monitoring non-stress tests (NSTs), are good-natured and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs, expressing happiness and excitement when monitoring the baby and a desire to meet the baby once they are "on the outside!" In addition, Dr. Kurtzman is clearly an expert! He addressed my many questions thoroughly during each visit, and with empathy and caring. He is passionate about the work he does (including his research contributions to the field), and it really shows, having a significant positive impact on the quality of care patients receive. I always felt I was in good hands and never a burden. He took my complaints seriously and prescribed several medications to ease my discomfort. His office sent prescriptions to the pharmacy swiftly and effectively communicated with my regular obstetrician's office, as well as my daughter's future pediatrician. Furthermore, when I was at risk of pre-term birth, he increased my medications, monitoring, and physical restrictions, additionally ordering steroid injections in the event of an early delivery. It all paid off, and my daughter and I had a smooth induction at 39 weeks, on the day I wanted. She was born healthy and well. In a nutshell, the quality of care I received at OCMFM was significantly better than my experiences at other OB offices, with my family members and me feeling supported as individuals in more of a personalized, human-centered way that is hard to come by in these days of AI assistants, online portals, and low-contact care. I would highly recommend their services to anyone with a high-risk pregnancy who wants to feel respected, valued, and attentively cared for as a patient.

After experiencing a stillbirth at 38 1/2 weeks pregnant, I knew I needed to recruit the best possible army to help navigate my rainbow pregnancy. Dr. Kurtzman and his staff were all I needed and more. The office environment is so peaceful, and unlike any doctor's office I've been to. The team is so thorough, listening to every concern compassionately . And Dr. K, well he is the absolute best. After being under his care from 15 weeks onward, I finally delivered my baby girl at 37 weeks. I am so grateful to OCMFM, for helping me through. You won't regret adding this team to your pregnancy journey.

Everything ran super smooth--no crazy waits, appts always on time, staff on top of everything. I have PCOS, and Dr. Meng created a low-stim protocol based on my hormone levels (AMH, E2, LH, etc). It felt tailored, not cookie-cutter. Monitoring was detailed, meds were adjusted as needed, and I felt taken care of every step. I showed up w/ a notebook full of Qs from past clinics--she answered every single one. Straight-up, no fluff, no eye-rolls. She's sharp, calm, and knows her stuff inside-out. The whole team is super responsive via phone/email and really kind. You're not just a patient here, they actually see you. If you want a doctor who's smart, efficient, and 100% on your side--this is the place. And now there's a little giggle in our house that didn't exist before--thanks to them.

First, when our medication was shipped to the office, they failed to provide an ice pack for a time-sensitive medication that required refrigeration. As a result, it was left at room temperature for hours, potentially compromising its effectiveness. Second, they did not thoroughly check the medication package and missed including the crucial trigger shot. I had to rush to the office at 8:30pm to get an emergency replacement-over an hour later than the correct injection time. Even more alarming, they messed up our email address and sent sensitive medical information, including my ID, to the wrong recipient, violating HIPAA regulations. This was a serious breach of privacy and trust. Additionally, an intern nurse attempted to draw my blood but had difficulty locating my vein. After two unsuccessful and painful attempts, the process had to be restarted by someone else. It made me question the level of training and oversight in the office. Despite two failed IVF rounds, Dr. Meng told us she wouldn't change anything about the protocol. There was no openness to reevaluating or adjusting the plan based on our results, which felt dismissive and discouraging. I rarely leave reviews, but I hope sharing my experience helps others make an informed decision. Fertility treatment is stressful and emotional enough-patients deserve a team that is organized, responsive, and respectful of their time, health, and privacy.
