Ren prepared our daughter for a rigorous college prep program. Although she had some nervousness about final exams and needed a primer on letter grades and GPA, she was academically well-prepared. The girls who attend St Mary's after Ren School seem to excel. Most importantly, Ren was instrumental in helping my daughter develop a strong sense of herself. Ren's holistic approach to education, with a focus on social and emotional development, is stellar. It mattered to me that our daughter's education encompassed far more than just book learning. Over the years, she was nurtured and went from a timid and anxious child to a confident and creative young woman. As a college professor, I recognize the importance of academic preparedness. I also know that social and emotional stressors can make it challenging to learn. Being in a safe community where she was known and cared for by all the teachers meant the world to our family. I started back again as a Teacher then moved into the role of Specialist. Management has the best interests of the teachers in mind and strives to improve working experience daily. The main reason I have decided to work with ChildRoots is a) the management and b) the philosophy. I truly believe that children learn best through hands-on experience and exploration of their own interests. Many of the staff are some of the best people I have ever worked with (shout out to the amazing, dedicated team). I will shortly be leaving to continue my education, but I would stay if I could continue working with these amazing teachers and admin. As they say, "You don't quit a place. You quit your boss," and that's why I have returned and have dedicated myself to continue working with ChildRoots until I return to school.

When I pick him up his first words are, "fun at school mommy". He is learning to play with others, they reinforce the manners and rules he has at home. My biggest fear as a mom was leaving my son with people who might not share my views or have his best interest at heart. When I drop my son off every morning, I have peace as I know his teachers are caring for him like they would their own children. Teachers Sarah and Jackie are incredibly good with the toddlers, my son loves them, however to be honest I could mention every single staff member, I do not want to leave any of them out as they are all FANTASTIC. We went to a few different daycares/playschools before (a Montessori school and a few different immersive ones) and all were too much pressure for our kids. They needed a friendly, fun, and relaxed environment - with no screens and lots of outdoor play. And that's what you get here. The staff all get along super smoothly and there is a 'flow' to the operation that even the kids pick up on. Everything feels low stress and welcoming, our kids love it and are well taken care of. 10/10.

We were very interested in enrolling our twin boys at this school for the fall of 2020, so much so,…read morewe went ahead and signed them up in early 2020, pre-pandemic i.e., before the first COVID case had even arrived in the western world and before we knew there would be a shut down or any of the other crazy things that happened at that time. We also had a newborn baby who would later become medically fragile and require open heart surgery and multiple other procedures that year. As you can imagine, it was one of the hardest years of our life. Due to her health, we had to be especially careful about possible exposure. We checked in with CCC sporadically up until the summer. We were keen to know if the program would still go ahead despite the pandemic. They were guarded and at one point mentioned by phone that it was uncertain due to low enrolment. By the late summer, it became clear that we could no longer take the risks of enrolling our twins in preschool at that time. We explained the extenuating circumstances and withdrew the application in order to give the school as much notice as possible. By this point, we had already paid the fees for the first term. The school refused to take the pandemic or our unique situation into account and kept over $800. This is despite the fact that the CCC preschool program we had enrolled the twins did not proceed due to the pandemic. They refused to reimburse us and refused to let us put the fees toward future enrolment once it was safe to do so. They did not even get in touch with information of when the program would re-start even though we explained very clearly why we had to hold off but that we still hoped to enrol at a later date if possible, pending our daughter being more medically stable.

My son loves CCC! He has always struggled in other care centers with drop off and separation…read moreanxiety. At Creative Children's Center, he has been excited about school since day one. He is actually disappointed on the days he doesn't have school with his friends and teachers. CCC provides children with authentic learning experiences. In class, my son has made muffins and applesauce, created countless pieces of artwork, studied the sunflowers in the community garden, and collaborated to make a class terrarium. Teachers tactically support and provide learning experiences based on the children's interests. I am so excited to see what will spark their interests next.

Our experience has been exactly that - our son has been going here for 2.5 years, and he as well as us simply love this school. From home cooked meals to learning and play and guidance on toilet training, the staff is very involved, helpful and friendly. Kids learn essential skills which make them independent such as how to eat by themselves, wear shoes and jackets by themselves etc. The best part I found is the sense of community and togetherness that the school creates between the children, teachers and the parents.

During our tour, the…read moreOWNER hyped up the many services the school offered - & after filling out required enrollment forms, we were absolutely misled from the information from the tour to actually being enrolled. No lunch meal was provided to my son, the sudden change of operation hours, & my son (2 y/o) engaging with older kids that was not his age group all because of due to low enrollment. If that is the case, then a lowered tuition fee would have been reasonable if they can't meet their promising services to families. Attempted too many times contacting the OWNER & DIRECTOR of these concerns and they have both been UNRESPONSIVE - it would take days, if not weeks & follow ups to get their attention. All to say, proceed with caution - the OWNER, Deanna & DIRECTOR, Brittney are very passive AND experts at ghosting when it comes to conflicts and/or resolving issues - at least in our experience. Tip for parents CONSIDERING this daycare: their policy is really vague and their parent handbook policy is covered with "we can change our policy at any given time" so be aware that they can quickly change whatever they need to do in their favor to which can leave parents like us really unhappy with the steep tuition they require.. if I can leave 0 stars, I would.
