This company was contracted by Liberty Home Guard to fix my furnace. The owner came out and…read morereplaced a part and then tried to sell my daughter a service contract. Needless to say, the furnace was not fixed and so she called them back and was told he would be out the next day, Saturday, and see what was wrong. Long story short, that evening he told her he was too wrapped up in a house wiring project and wouldn't be able to make it. It was in the lower 50's at the time and expected to drop below freezing. At present, I have no confidence this person will fix the problem and have lodged a complaint with Liberty Home Guard about contracting with this person ever again.

They took about 2 1/2 hours and the main guy was on the phone the whole time! I made the mistake of not watching them, and when they were done, he said it was all done and I wrote him a check. He said he would send my receipt to my email. Well the next day, I ran a load of laundry and there was water on the floor, just like before. Also, it's now been 1 & 1/2 weeks later and he still won't come back and fix the washer. he hasn't sent me a receipt either. I have been hounding him by phone messages and texts, and have only talked to him twice. He makes statements claiming he'll get right back to me with a date and time, but then blows me off! I don't think it's fair to keep on starting new jobs, when you haven't finished the one you said you fixed!!! I have now been without my washer for 3 &1/2 weeks and if he has so many jobs he can't keep up, then maybe he shouldn't take on so many! I mean... is it to much to ask to get what you pay for? From a very unhappy customer!

Pros: The decking project was completed successfully and at reasonable price. They did correct mistakes after I threatened to withhold payment. Cons: Many mistakes on what should have been a straightforward project. Also a fairly big billing mistake. Poor communication. Ran into a number of snags along the way: - After I sent my deposit they went radio silent for weeks with no update or ETA. - They ordered approximately half the required decking material (office personnel ordered by the board foot but meant square foot). Instead of owning it outright they blamed the vendor. - They ordered more material and tried to stick additional delivery fees on me for their mistake. They relented eventually. - They didn't order sufficient buffer material to accommodate waste and defective materials. - Since they ran out of material, they installed cracked/defective material into the deck, then tried to pass it off as a manufacturer mistake. I think this is unethical behavior. The right thing to do is to call the owner and explain what happened. - They said it was done then failed first inspection because they forgot to replace panels on the house. - When invoicing they failed to incorporate the 15% deposit and thus attempted to overcharge significantly.
