Absolutely horrible prices and customer service! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! First of all they put over a $300 bill on my car to tow it to their lot because "a cop called them to the accident". When I called them to get it moved to the shop I was told I had to come down in person to pay. I informed them I needed to empty my car after paying them and before they towed it to the repair shop. They assured me that would not be a problem, THEY LIED!!! They know they park all the cars so close noone can access them but sent me out there anyway. My car was towed from my apartment complex even though it was registered. The tow company, Bug's Towing, damaged my vehicle. The extent of the damage is not fully known, but at the very least the Drive Shaft and Carrier Bearing were damaged enough I could not drive the vehicle from the impound lot. I have tried contacting them to file an insurance claim and they have delayed in accepting responsibility. The facts: - The vehicles rear bumper was dislodged. I have pictures, they have pictures of before too. Their pictures show the bumper intact prior to them towing it. - The car had to be towed from the impound lot, it was drivable prior to their towing of it. - They did not use the proper towing technique for a Subaru Outback and stated they "strictly grab on from the wheels and nothing else". Subaru states in their owners manual, "Never tow AWD vehicles with the front wheels off the ground while the rear wheels are on the ground, or with the rear wheels raised off the ground while the front wheels are on the ground". Plus, my friend saw the car on Monday evening way after 4:00pm and confirmed that there was nothing wrong--no stickers, no flat tire, nothing. They also claimed my car was towed because of a flat tire, which is completely false. I have photo proof from right in front of the impound lot showing that all my tires were in perfect condition. Forgot to mention the sticker also said the car was INOPERABLE!!! I know my car, and nothing was wrong with it , well i drove off the place just fine!!! When I called Bugs Towing about this, they even admitted they didn't inspect the car. How does that make any sense? Trying to get information was another nightmare. I called multiple times the day my car was towed, and they kept hanging up on me, saying they had "another call." Seriously? I'm literally calling to find out about my car, and that's how they treat people? ‼The PRICE situation was just as shady. I was told over the phone that picking up my car the same day would cost $360, but if I waited until the next day, it would be $260. I decided to wait, but when I went to pick up my car, an extremely rude lady at the window told me I owed $295. **SCAM ALERT** Nobody likes to be towed, but god help you if you get towed by these guys, because you are looking at $400 to get your car back. We were playing a show at Bar K on Friday, March 1st, 2024. The bands playing were Sclerotia, Smellblind, Dynador, and Denver-favorite band, Octopus Tree as the headliner. Fantastic lineup. There is limited parking behind the bar, and the lot wraps around the back corner of the building. There was signage implying that the lot past where bands and patrons parked was property of the Chinese place. Fair. Seemed logical. Except the lot was not accurately marked! The lot we all parked in was owned by the Chinese place... but there was no sign indicating where the boundaries were. Typically these sorts of things are marked clearly, but clear marking doesn't line the pockets of Bug's Towing! Better yet, the tow company refused to answer the phone, no doubt so they could charge us an overnight fee! We showed up to their dump of a lot, which of course was not clearly marked, as expected. The whole band, along with some fans were there to get their cars. We firmly explained to them that this situation was misleading. He said there was perfectly adequate signage in the lot, even when I showed proof that there wasn't. He then went on to say that if we came back on Monday we wouldn't be charged the "after hours fee" of $96. Keep in mind, they are "open" 24/7. Also, what kind of tow company charges you LESS for holding your car LONGER? DO NOT FALL FOR IT! THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND LIARS! How do I know? A Hispanic woman retrieving her car behind us in line fell for the Monday savings scam. As the guy walked us to our cars, we overheard him say over his radio "I got her for Monday". Want more? ***PSA: SCAM ALERT*** I felt the need to write this review to warn the public that this company got caught scamming. Long story here: My apartment community was doing some asphalt work and required all cars to be moved while doing so, this was scheduled in advanced on 07/12/2023. On the morning of the work being done, the apartment community hired this company, Bugs Towing, to relocate cars that were parked in the area which work was being done, to a different location in the complex. There were a lot of vehicles that were towed that day, at least 15. I didn't think anything of it until about 5 days later I got a notice on my door. I was billed $75 for "Relocating my vehicle." I asked the leasing office about this and was told I needed to bring it up with Bug's Towing because at the end of they day, it was them who claimed to have moved my car and them who generated the invoice. I drove down to their location and spoke with Tyler Campbell. He was no help and said they were unable to disclose any information to me and I had to take it up with my community, despite them being the ones that claimed to have moved my car. The apartment community asked Bugs Tower to send proof they moved my car. They replied with a picture of my cars license plate, which does not prove they moved it. Then a grainy dashcam video which only shows the roof of a silver car. All done by the driver, Luis T. I have attached photos below. This is where the scam gets very interesting. I noticed that the meta date which shows when the photo of my plate was taken was on 07/12/2023, the day of the work, at 11:17AM (Photo attached) Unfortunately for them, I had an iron clad alibi. I had a doctors appointment scheduled at 11AM, and of course left the house much sooner to get there. My car was not even parked where they took the pictures that day, as I had moved it across the complex in compliance with the work being done the following day. What likely happened is Bugs Towing moved my vehicle early in the morning, and snapped these photo and video, then moved it back to its original location, and then edited the meta data for the photo, or its not even my car at all. Either way they attempted to bill me for this and likely did something similar to other cars as well. After all they did move almost 15 cars so it looks like they were attempting to add move vehicles to the invoice sent to my apartment community. They must have assumed that some folks would just think they forgot to move their car and pay the bill without complaint. Was not going to work on me. Thankfully my apartment community removed the charge from my account, although it is likely they just ate the charge from Bugs Towing, after I had threated small claims court. I knew I had an iron clad alibi to where they couldn't possibly win. Bugs Towing, as all towing companies are, is regulated by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies - Public Utilities Commission. I will be reporting their business practices to this agency to further raise awareness of the scam going on. If you feel this company has wronged you in a similar way, I would highly suggest doing the same. Everything went well. From Shay the receptionist, who gave more than pleasant service, to Terry the operator, who was also more than courteous. From the call to my car being at its destination was no more than and hour and a half. I was even at work the whole time, everything was being taken care of. predatory towing company. It is common for people to park in unassigned parking spaces at the gym I go to when all the parking spaces are taken. Bugs does not hang signs notifying patrons of tow away zones. as a result, I parked in a space that is commonly utilized when the lot is full and my car was taken. The fee if you get your car out the same day is $455. I say they are predatory because they know the lot gets too full, they are required to hang "tow away zone" signs but they don't. FYI, any vehicle left in their yard more than 48 hours -- they file a request for full vehicle info with the State of Colorado Revenue Dept saying the vehicle was abandoned. No one said how long we had to get belongs out of wrecked vehicle. It was VERY HARD to clean out the vehicle, requiring a long walk; private vehicles are not allowed in the yard. Then--they charged us a $150 fee for administrative and sent a copy of their State request to us via Certified Mail. We do not need this document--they do. This company is as shady as you can get. I work in insurance and have dealt with probably over 100 tow yards in various states. This is hands down the worst. Let's start by mentioning the fact they towed a vehicle in an apartment complex without 24 hours notice. The vehicle was parked for less than one hour. Yes, a mistake where it was parked but anyone can research the Colorado Towing Bill of Rights and see they have to give 24 hour notice when parked in an apartment complex. They claim they don't need to follow this law. I also asked about the law where they are required to take 15% or $60 payment to release the vehicle, again a law in Colorado and they claim to have no info and told me I need to research this myself. I was told I need to have a notary (not correct) and notarize "it" I kept asking what "it" was with no answer other than I need to figure it out myself. There were two ladies there, both extremely rude but Maria is hands down the rudest person I've ever dealt with in my life. We then pick up the vehicle and my wife was never given back her debit card or ID. Realized it almost immediately but had to get to work. We call and Maria clearly knew something was up as she sounded like she was completely full of it and tells me after placing me on hold several minutes "I remember giving it back to your wife and I have the video footage to show it" I then ask if we can see that footage and was told no. So why bring it up immediately? I didn't ask for any video. Sounds like a liar to me... they broke the law on the tow without 24 hour notice, stole my wife's card and ID, also tried to charge her card $292 instead of $12!! We paid $280 cash (they also won't give you any change). I called the office and they gave me a quote over the phone of $250. I told him exactly what vehicle I had an empty horse trailer that only weighs 1200 pounds I could not make it up a hill and did not want to slide backwards, it was not very steep and they only had to pull me about 50 feet. They told me it would be an hour or less and I took over an hour and then they made me sign the documents saying if I didn't pay them they will tow my vehicle for collateral After the tow was over the guy charge me $400 it took him less than five minutes to pull me up a little hill. Do not use this tow company!! My truck was towed from the gym. There were no signs that said I couldn't park there. I had my two right tires up on the curb(trying to be nice,I have a big truck) and they towed my truck, I had an altercation with one of bugs drivers Luis T and another driver the one that towed my truck when they came back after they had already dropped my truck off at their yard and I was waiting for a ride. They were very rude and aggressive Luis proceeded to tell me "lets go around back of the building where there is no cameras, be careful you don't get dusted" and he also said something about "that's why I got your girls pussy still" and he actually didn't do anything after he threatened me let's go out back... and he just hopped in his truck when I proceeded to follow him in the back. I got my car towed away on Saturday, 10:30 pm, for parking at China Town restaurant's private spots. I accept that, there was a sign and i didn't see it (was a freezing windy night). The scam comes now: I checked their website online and they claim that they are open 24 hours a day, from Monday to Sunday, but when i arrived to their office (using an uber), i found that it was closed, and there was a sign at their window with the opening hours: 8 am to 5 pm, from Monday to Friday; Saturdays and Sundays only by appointment... but I called them to every phone number I found at their website, and they didn't pick up... until the next day, Sunday, at 9:30 am, when I could talk to the office administrator, and she told me the office will be open from 11 to 12 am that Sunday. When I went there, the price was 413'77 $ (the price itself is disproportionate)... but they WOULDN'T GIVE YOU CHANGE, so I ended up paying 420 $. Among the price it was included an overnight fee, so I told them "ok, but I tried to retrieve the car last night and you were closed, so there's no point in charging me an extra fee" to which she replied that after they close the office is an overnight fee anyway. Person who answered phone was helpful and said he'd have a truck on the way within 20 minutes; he explained the driver would call when they were on their way. The driver, Logan, did call when he was on his way and asked what was going on. He said it sounded like I just needed a jump - and he was right. Had my car jumped and running within a matter of minutes, and said there was no need for him to tow it to the dealership as I had planned; all I needed to do was run up to AutoZone and get a new battery. All said and done, the process from calling Bugs to leaving AutoZone with a new battery might have been an hour and a half. I really appreciated Logan's friendliness and knowledge, as well as the fact that he didn't try to upsell me. I would call Bugs again next time I need a tow (or a jump)! read more

Rude owner! There are laws in Colorado to limit tow truck companies from totally ripping consumers off, and Bugs charges maximum rates and fees as much as they can. Just be aware that if there are ANY fees they can get over on you, they will. I have a friend who warned me about them before hand but I didn't heed his warning, that they towed his vehicle from one side of their fence to the other side -- because they park their own vehicles there and block most of the signs that say no parking -- so he found out the hard way and the owner was rude to him as well. read more

Call Randy's or Walt's Towing first, and here's why: Regardless of the fact the owner is a bit short and rude when having to deal with a nonconsensual tow (look at his responses to less than positive reviews), there are better options out there that don't charge the Maximum Rates allowed by Colorado Law when you are selecting someone to tow your vehicle. If they can find a way to include a charge, count on paying the MAXIMUM allowed in Colorado. Granted, they have some good reviews for responsiveness and the friendly tow operators when you are the one requesting service, but that comes with the maximum price allowed. For alternatives, I had a GREAT experience with Randy's towing due to them only charging a reasonable hourly rate which is straight forward if you recognize up front there is hookup time and traffic considerations that you'll need to count on -- and they are the ones that most local respectable repair shops recommend, so they take a hit on being in high demand and not waiting around for the next sucker to pay maximum rates allowed by law. Also, and by the looks of it, Walt's Towing has even better reviews for you to consider based on Google showing alternatives when you look at Bug's reviews! Now the details of why I gave a 1 star. An employee was helping after hours get a truck from Rush Truck Center next door, and mistakenly parked on the dirt off the road along their fence that was indeed marked as no parking with the minimum size sign required by law. Although speculation at this time, it felt like they bait folks to park there by parking their own vehicle in front of and blocking one of the other no-parking signs, giving the impression to someone not recognizing the other sign that it's OK to park there, since the Rush Truck Center right there never has a place to park. Frankly, this is not against the law, and they legally had the right to tow the vehicle - my employee's $340.91 costly mistake for just towing it to the other side of the fence. While my employee sat in my truck and called the number, the owner answered with immediate attitude when he recognized it was for a nonconsensual tow. When my employee shared his sadness asking for a break in the cost because he was just there picking up a truck from Rush Truck Center, the owner quickly responded "We don't like Rush Truck company anyways because they charge too much and are a rip off!". Really? It's ironic since Bug's charges the maximum rate allowed by law, so in essence he just proved he's no different and is a prime reason why Colorado just updated their law that takes effect 8/11/22 to further restrict companies like this who are predatory in nature if the law wasn't there to protect you. So about the charge... They arrived to tow the vehicle at 6:10PM, supposedly took them until 6:42PM to move it just to the other side of the fence (100 feet at most), and my employee called at 7:25PM (same day) once we recognized it was towed. Although they are 24 hours, they charge $89.24 extra for after hours release. So they charged the maximum $211.11 for the tow less than 100ft, $89.24 for the after hours release, and $40.56 for storage fees. This is what they call Gravy, and they are laughing all the way to the bank because it was legal even if it wasn't moral. The response to the review prior to this review reveals how crude the owner is, and a stark difference between how Walt's towing responds to their reviews. These guys are a prime reason why the towing industry often gets a bad rap, and why there's specific laws to attempt to protect the local citizens even after all the lobbying to keep up their antics. FWIW, I paid for this tow for my employee, since he was helping after hours and it was an honest mistake on his part. Lastly, look at the picture I added that shows the maximum rates allowed by Colorado law. Look at the 'current rates' as all that apply you will be charged, and they add up fast. read more

This company may be the worst company I have ever felt with. They towed my car when given orders not to by the apartment complex and told to refund anyone that was towed the previous day. Then when asked about giving me a refund from the company they are hired by, said "we can't because the card already went through". The driver was the best part of the service he was kind and helped me out by dropping me at a place I could stay until my ride came. The guy on the phone the dispatcher is a unprofessional man that is short with you and rude, he failed to mention the lot fees that were more than the tow. My work car broke down in the snow on my way home. I called bugs and they said I could leave it at the lot and it would be no problem as it was snowing. I called another company to pick up the vehicle from Bugs (Fred's towing) awesome company btw. The driver got to bugs and the same dispatcher is claiming that they didn't have my vehicle and that had had to go. The dispatcher from bugs did not reach out to me or anything I was informed of this when I called asking Fred's towing about state of my vehicle. I called bugs and then he informed me that I owed them a big lot fee after they told me that I would not have to pay one in that it was fine because I am a 90 % disabled veteran and was stranded in the snow. So I paid the lot fee against my better judgment. I also informed the Rude dispatcher that I would be making these reviews. I will tell any veteran to stay far away from this company they do not care about you and they do not care about the customer general they will charge you for things that they said were free. And they are overall very unprofessional. I hate it for the driver he was a very kind man and he does not deserve any of this other than positive reviews. This company needs to be held accountable in the way that they treat the community that they are supposed to serve, and the veterans who have served him.
