    Beautiful little swimming lake

Harrison County park that has a lot to offer the visitors. Start with an adorable petting zoo, swimming area with life guards thru Labor Day and so much more. Check out the full service camping sites too. Tucked around by playgrounds you will find 18 hole disc golf course. The do charge $5 car entry for county residents and $7 all others, the do offer annual year passes.

Came for the weekend to camp in our travel trailer. Closest campground to the caverns we were scheduled to visit during our trip. Upon parking we noticed it's not a full hookup campground it's listed as "modern" not sure why they would hide such an important fact. There is a dump station on the grounds which has a hose nozzle attached and cannot be removed. This is not an ideal setup for flushing your tanks. If a camper needs a nozzle they should have their own. Please remove that especially since it leans like crazy, so much wasted water. We thought there was a decent amount of space between campsites and the playground was in a great location covered in shade. We noticed folks on the paddle boats but nobody at the "beach" the lake was not appealing enough to swim in which was a disappoint. The petting zoo is a mess, let the animals go roam free somewhere else. It's a very i kind setup and loving condition for them. It's not a selling feature To your campground believe me. We really appreciated the security monitoring through the evening.

I really enjoyed this park. We've been a couple of times over the past few months with our 5 yo son. They have several okay areas and paths for him to ride his ziggle. It's pretty big which is great so he doesn't get bored with just one spot. Both times there were a lot of campers there.

Excellent park with lots of stuff to do. The disc golf course is my favorite in the area.

There are plenty of spots for fishing but some of them you will need to take a short hike down a gravel road. If you bring a wagon make sure it has bigger wheels but probably best to carry everything to make it easier. There is a fishing dock as well that's pretty big and most definitely is shareable with a few groups. The hiking trail that extends around to the dam is a fun walk since it goes in and out of wooded covering. Makes it great for sunny days as well. The playground is nice and maybe small to moderate size. There are BBQ stands to use and picnic tables. There are bathrooms but not very quick to get to from most parts of the park so keep that in mind. Great place to kayak as well! Great views and since the lake is narrow it makes it feel more like a river to go through. Super fun place! Glad to see them doing more work on it Only criticism is that there is lots of trash and even though it's the patrons fault, the park could do a better job at cleaning it up. Watch your little ones so they don't pick up pokey fish hooks or broken bottles.

I wouldn't want to take it in anything other than hiking boots. When we came to the fork we went to the right. About two miles in, where the trial and the lake intersect we saw a fishing camp. I think these guys leave it up all summer. They had huge coolers, cots and pop up weekenders. About a quarter to a half mile further we took a light trail to the left and found our campsite. I have zero idea how it got there but it had an actual full size picnic table. There are no labeled campsites but if you pay attention you'll spot the side trails leading off from the main trail. The trail is incredibly well marked and even if it wasn't a blind person could follow it. You could take a large four wheeler if you had to. It rained all night so the trail was wet and muddy. There are some cool rock formations, some great water features and some good views of the lake. We came across an old stone building that was pretty cool. Some interesting signs along the trail about the history and region. We didn't see any mountain bikers or horse people but there were obvious signs that they use the trail. Trail had very little trash. Hiked it with full packs and even with the mud it was pretty easy. There were only two blow downs that blocked the trail. There were quite a few streams that crossed the trail, but we only had to put on our sandals for the very last one and I imagine if it hadn't rained so much we could've crossed it in our boots. Saw a box turtle, plenty of squirrels and chipmunks. Heard lots of birds.

Outside of that particular experience (and once I was on the return down-hill), I realized this trail is short, simple, charming , and easy, with a few spots offering really pretty overlook views along the way. About halfway in, a babbling creek starts to follow you, hinting that you're nearing the final destination. Then you can hear the waterfalls before rounding a bend to reveal them. The falls are fantastic with multiple levels and a very peaceful melody. Just a heads-up: the trail begins with a walk down a service road since the original trail is now on private property, roped off as part of a very interesting-looking old house/building. At the end of the service road, there's a short but steep uphill path path to rejoin the trail. After that--smooth sailing.

I wasn't ready for that, but I made it! We got some beautiful pictures of the waterfall. The waterfall was easy to walk around in and can get wet if you wanted too. Great place to cool down as well. There was also a train track that we walked on and it was right over a creek. Very high up but cool to see. I would definitely go back to visit the trail. I will know more of what I'm getting into next time.

    Family Fun Park

Huber's Family Fun Park was such a cute, wholesome field trip destination…read more I chaperoned my son's trip there last week, and you could tell that the staff here really have hosting field trips down. After we got off our bus, we were shepherded to a three minute or so talk about how seeds grow into pumpkins, with rules of the pumpkin field (don't pick the green pumpkins!). And then the kids were given plastic pumpkins bags and let loose on the field. I also appreciated that this was an actual pumpkin field and not just a spot of ground where pre-picked pumpkins are strewn about. It was a bit muddy that day, but that didn't seem to dampen the fun. My son picked a great, small pumpkin to bring home with him. After that we stowed our pumpkins and grabbed our lunches, which we ate in a picnic pavilion. The only thing I'd caution with this is that the bathrooms, which are port 'o' potties, are in another area, and there weren't great options for washing dirty hands before eating. After we ate, we had about 20 minutes to play. The Family Fun Park boasts an expansive playing area with giant farm animals figures, diminutive play houses that kids can walk through, other playground equipment and bounce house-like trampolines. It was just enough activity to then make the bus ride back quiet, with several kids napping in their seats. I'm not sure the kids learned a lot on this trip, but it was fun and enjoyed by pretty much everyone who came along.

At the very entrance of the site is an exterior building and fenced off play area labeled "family fun park". The price is $6 a person to enter for anyone over the age of 12. And while they do have lots of cool things to see and experience for little ones anyone over the age of 12 will feel a smidge bit shafted as majority is aimed at the very young kids. That said it is a great value for kids under the age of 12. Very imaginative and massive sized playgrounds and play sets, a beautiful koi pond, wagon rides, inflatable bounces, tricycle races, a huge tunnel slide, bamboo mazes and corn mazes. There truly is a lot to do. My kiddos loved the houses sized doll houses to play in. The tire slide was popular as well as the small bounce inflatables. The bamboo maze and corn maze were relatively small and easy to navigate sticking to the young age theme but they were still eat. Especially the bamboo maze as I've never seen one of those before. I kinda wish the pricing was better and fair for adults or teens. Like my 13 year old was bummed as most things had size and age restrictions. But we still had good fun here and spent 2-3 hours playing. So it ultimately is a good value for the little ones .
