One caveat before we start: this was our first home contracting work. So maybe the behavior…read moredescribed below is expected for this work. They did EXACTLY what was in their contract. No more, no less. They hand-wrote the contract instead of typing it up, so we missed that they didn't add the gutters we had discussed and thought they added. They were supposed to be all triple-paned, specially-built windows, but they bought the egress window at Menards. They didn't keep us updated as to the schedule. In July, we called and they said it would be a couple of weeks, 3 weeks later I called them again, oh, it'll be a few weeks, wash, rinse, repeat. When they finally did come, they worked for 3 days, disappeared for 2 days, worked a half day, disappeared for a day, worked an hour Saturday morning disappeared and came back, etc... They didn't do any kind of walk-through when they were done. We had them do quite a lot of work, so a show-and-tell would have been nice to know the job was done right. They demanded payment immediately when they were done with the work. Every other contractor I have ever worked with has either handed or mailed me a final bill to be paid in two weeks or 30 days. They called while their crew was still working to ask for payment. This is when we found out the gutters weren't getting done. They stated they 'never do gutters' even though we discussed the gutters with them and the crew that arrived. As far as I can tell, the workers did a good job, the roof seems sound, and the windows are good. The workers were friendly and professional. The NCR team was friendly too until they decided the bill was due. Then they were no better than any other debt collector. We told them we had to contact the bank the afternoon they asked. So before 9 the next morning (before the bank was even open) they were calling again. I would not recommend NCR based on their business practices.
