I read some of the reviews before I went, and they both were on opposite ends of the spectrum, so I…read moreknew I had to just go and find out for myself. It's actually really nice in there. The staff is really nice and helpful. It was nice to be able to talk to a clerk that seems like they enjoy their job for once. It's actually clean in there. one thing that caught my eye was that you can smell the incense display all around, but no one is burning incense and that was nice.

Local artists and craftspeople are featured here. There is advertising from all sorts of local stores and organizations. There are write ups of city events. Pictures of various charity events around town. The space they occupy is on Elmwood between Hertel and Amherst. Is reused old space and it's awesome. I've been a few times for meetings, but I think they will give you a tour if you ask. And if you've been you'll know the answer to this - what's the largest animal in the space? On the one hand, the cute and adorable brunette girl working here in the evenings is a real angel and a breath of fresh air. Very helpful and personable. 5 stars for service. On the other hand, the price of drinks here (and everything really) is worse than at a Thruway rest stop. Everything is so jacked up. A bottle of water will run you close to $3. It's just ridic. People are coming into the casino to spend lots of money - do they need to be ripped off here too? Surely that's off-putting. 1 star for prices. Anyway, 3 stars.

Stopped here today to pick up discount tickets for Christmas in the Country which is going on at…read morethe fairgrounds this weekend. The woman at the counter was very friendly. There was someone in front of us when we arrived and another coming in while we were there. All there for the same reason and all handled quickly. I wasn't aware that this is the main 'Bee Group' office and not just for Amherst. You can place ads or conduct any business you have for any of the different town Bees from this location. They also had numerous brochures available for different events going on around the county. It would be a good place to check for information

Don't red them if you don't want to. You'll still get great info on the local art scene and openings schedules etc. They have a lot of advertising, much of it "adult" so be prepared for that. Since it's free and can e found all over town you may have to keep it out of your kids hands while you wait for a fajita at Lone Star or have a coffee at Spot. 3 stars for the advertising content. Would be 4 without that given the plethora of info to be found inside the pages.

This is a free publication which does a great job of chronicling all things Buffalo. I've been in it many, many times. The only reason it loses a star is that when I released some of my epic and very popular albums, which sold more than any Buffalo artist did in those years except for maybe the Goos and such (I'm serious... one of them sold 20k!), I didn't get any recognition at all from the ArtVoice music awards. They gave all their best albums and best newcomer awards to people that only sold records to 5 family members and such. It's okay though... my music wasn't cool enough for AV. That doesn't change the fact that it's a fantastic free local paper and I support them completely!

Although the two don't have to be mutually exclusive, and often aren't. This was a magazine store that had literally every magazine you could imagine, except for soccer, and that's why it loses a star. It seemed to have every damn thing else, but Barnes & Noble, which had less magazines - also had more soccer stuff. Go figure. What Newsworld did have that B N did not, is a very large selection of porn. It was enormous! And I'm not talking about the guys in the porn, but that too. It was kind of cool because nobody really knew porn was in there, it just looked like a normal newsagents. But yes, porn-a-riffic in there. Prices were a little lofty but hey, in America, sex sells, along with everything else apparently. If they hadn't sold porn it'd have been a little boring... i.e. more like Snoozeworld. But they did. So yay.
