I didn't really browse the clothing but I could tell that the things I saw looked well-made and fashionable. A quick check of the Frances Jaye website let me know that they appreciate and support sustainable and ethical brands, which is always awesome to see. The prices may be higher than your average mall, but you get what you pay for. They have men's and women's clothing, accessories, home goods, cards, books, and gift items. I particularly loved the Holland shirts that were modern and stylized. I ended up buying a fancy wick trimmer as we seem to have a surplus of candles these days, as well as two cute holiday cards featuring cat illustrations, because #crazycatlady I loved this little shop and will absolutely stop in every time I'm in the area!

They have amazing jewelry, clothes, and accessories here. I got a really cute star choker that I wear constantly. I always stop in this store when we're visiting downtown Holland but haven't been able to purchase anything else.

I visited Harris & Willow over the weekend and found MULTIPLE nice items in plus sizes. Clothes for work and clothes for weekend and more things that I wanted, but had to practice some self-control. So happy to have a realistic option to support local and get something outside of big box stores. I hope they run some sales/have coupons so I can compete price wise with other stores if similar quality. Great stuff, though, so I hope they keep up the great selection so this can become a reliable stop on my search to be well dressed.

As I talked to the clerk about how cute things were and how hard it was to decide, she snubbed me and grabbed the items and started ringing them up. I told her I was still deciding and to help the next person. Once I decided, she rang up my items. I asked if she could gift wrap and she snapped that there was no gift wrapping during the sidewalk sale. I said ok, but could I have a piece of the ribbon they usually use? Once again snapped, " no, we aren't doing any of that!" Another clerk came in and the first one was busy with another customer. I asked second clerk if it was be possible to get a box so that I could wrap my gift myself. The first clerk yelled across the counter and said I already told you we aren't doing any of that. Maybe she was annoyed by me, but I nicely asked and I believe I was kind to her. I told her she could try to be nicer. Once again, she rudely snapped , "I was nice!" My happy mood when I walked in disolved immediately. Maybe a sign should've been posted that during the sidewalk sale they won't give boxes or a gift wrap and the gift wrap could be put away in the back. With today's online ordering trend, I would think that the store would want to be especially nice to its customers. I understand it's very hard to run a small business in this day and age. I will likely take my business elsewhere.

I'm guessing the building used to be a bank, and there's a part with clothes racks where you can walk in to the vault. Full of knick knacks, home accessories, crafting stuff, platewear, etc. It's a nice place to stop for kitchy stuff, if you're into that kind of thing. The people working there were SUPER friendly and one gave us a history lesson of the space - it actually used to be a bank, and the vault currently houses their Christmas decorations. Neat stuff.
