So I spoke with the Chinese boss who's originally from Hong Kong (here since he was 2). I just requested for soup noodles (spicy) with beef and shrimp. It came up to be 18.59 EUR (which I assume was fairly standard for main courses). It was quite a large dish. And overall the quality is quite good. Shrimp was fresh and crunchy. Beef was well cooked and tender. Soup was flavorful. The cook/chef us definitely Chinese or quite well-trained. Saw a number of guests that came in who were personally greeted by the boss. They must be regulars. From TripAdvisor reviews, this is definitely the go-to place for authentic Chinese. Surprised that they didn't have a single review on Yelp. (So now here it is!!)

The service was timely and friendly. The prices are not cheap, but reasonable for the high quality food. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon wine from South Africa along with Ribeye steak dinners. The wine was great. The steaks were ordered medium-rare and cooked perfectly. The side dishes were generous, tasty, and high quality. The owner sat us and was very nice and helpful. Our waitress was friendly and did her best to speak in English to us. Overall, 4.5 stars. Liked it so much that we returned the next day for another excellent meal.

And Gasterij Zondag appealed immensely. We were delighted to dine on very excellent cuisine, accompanied by attentive and friendly service and wonderful live music. We were enthralled with the small portions of innovative vegetables which accompanied our entrees. We were on a two-week trip which originated in London, took us through Bruges and Paris and ended up on a Viking River Cruise. I must say that of all the places we ate while we were in Europe, this was (by far) our favorite meal! The prices were reasonable and the whole experience captivating. But we can't forget the imaginative mini-tasting items--every one delicious--which automatically came with our dinners. A beautiful place with experienced staff, a nice terrace with beautiful surroundings. Perfect for a coffee or (what we did) some refreshing drinks and a portion of bitterballen. A 'yes' for when exploring the Veluwe on bicycles!
