Another renter asked to speak with the manager and was told by the representative that she was here but she was out currently. Not a good look when the lobby is full of people trying to rent or return vehicles and only 2 staff members remaining to handle the rush. Again I was there for over 45 minutes waiting so this wasn't a quick errand that she was running. Also disappointed with the additional insurance basic coverage. They tell you about the damage waiver and its' cost but didn't mention the additional 24 hour roadside assistance that costs another $9.99 a day and is added in. I also noticed that the same thing happened to a couple who was ahead of us renting a car, they were talked into the additional insurance coverage and when they saw the contract commented that the extra coverage cost nearly $600 for a 4 day rental and was more than the cost for the car. Overall the staff working were trying hard but they weren't able to process the customer volume and their manager wasn't on site to assist. I won't be back to that location in the future. I honestly felt taken advantage of by the roadside assistance coverage being added and the wait to return the car was not reasonable.

    I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with this car rental company…read more About a week before my rental date, I checked their website and also called ahead to confirm that the specific car I needed, with the right features, would be available for this Saturday. I clearly communicated the date and need, and they told me to complete the reservation online. Their website allowed me to choose a 9:30 AM pickup time, so I booked it for 9:30 AM and assumed everything was confirmed. When I arrived on Saturday to pick up the car, I found out that the location did not even open until 10:00 AM. I called their customer support, and they told me someone should be there in less than 10 minutes, it was 9:20am. Finally, after about 25 minutes someone showed up. When the employee arrived, they were on the phone, did not acknowledge the situation professionally, and sat down at the computer without giving any explanation. After all that waiting, I was told that the car had an software issue the day before and was not available for pickup. I asked when they knew about the issue, and they said it was known the day before. When I asked why no one informed me ahead of time, I was told their internal system is not connected and that this is "just how they operate." I also asked why the website allowed me to book a 9:30 AM pickup when the store opens at 10:00 AM, and they said each store has different hours, but the backend system does not reflect that properly. They had my contact information, had time to notify me, and still no one contacted me in advance. I had even communicated with them through WeChat before, so there was no excuse for the lack of communication. They attempted to offer me another car to be delivered later hours in the day, but then what is the point of an appointment? This was extremely unprofessional and poorly managed. The lack of communication, broken booking system, delayed opening, and casual attitude toward the problem completely ruined my visiting parents' plans. A rental company should be able to confirm availability, notify customers of issues, and make sure the pickup time on their website matches the actual store hours.

My original location did not have the specific car available. Avis corporate customer service found this area that has the type of car that seats 7, not the SUV as originally reserved but a Chrysler Pacifica van instead. I am already perturbed by this mishap and having to scramble to find a suitable vehicle for my needs . Sadly at this location the owner who helped me did not seem like he was happy to be there , his facial expression was stern , cold demeanor. Not welcoming one bit . I asked for him to explain the collection of funds put on hold on my credit card. He looked annoyed having to asked to repeat and explain what he meant to me again. I never had to sign any forms stating a specific amount of money to be held. I am used to walking to the airport Avis location and walking to the kiosk to find my stall number and drive the car off the lot . We are back after renting for 3 days and here to return the car . I kid you not the owner's face shows no change from the first time I retrieved the car. Won't be coming back here again where my business is not warranted .

Check the reviews on google and from other reviewers on Yelp (but beware of the ones penned by the owner himself smh). The experience of absolutely horrible customer service is consistent. I recommend the owner to reflect on his mode of conducting business before pointing fingers at customers. Whereas the owner has no evidence that my review is not real, I have a screenshot of his review of his own company, in which he fabricated an entire story of how he had been involved in a car accident and his business helped him to resolve the issue efficiently. You can check the review yourself by clicking into the profile of David L.. I think the fact that the owner is desperate enough to fabricate consumer reviews says a lot about the business by itself. Yelp does not require registration with real name, so of course you don't have a record of my username. Why should I risk further dealing with this business after my horrible experience with it?

No agents at pickup locations, impossible to get live operators on the phone, surprise fees after return. The guys at Penske are f-ing AWESOME. They walked me through the entire process, which was a huge relief as it was my first driving across the state in a truck. Even hooked me up with a larger truck without the added cost. But where Penske really shines is their customer service. I originally booked a truck via Budget, but upon arriving at the pickup location, they didn't have any trucks. I desperately called Penske to see if they could do a same-day one-way rental. Not only did a live rep pick up the phone immediately, they even quoted me a price similar to Budget. AND I could pick up the truck within 10 minutes. That's something none of their competitors offer. Special thanks to R. Lira Martinez (found the name on the rental agreement) at this location for taking the time to slowly walk me thru the pickup and drop-off process. You rock.
