With all the competition there has to be something that sets you apart -- at this location its the customer service. In particular, Jimmy always provides the best customer service. He's always personable, friendly and willing to give you an upgrade if they have one. And he's quick to solve any problems. I rented a vehicle not too long ago and noticed before driving away that the car had low tire pressure. I went in to let him know and he came out with a pump. If I could give this place 1 star, I swear I would. Customer Service here sucks! As people always say, it isn't what you say but more so how you say it. They do not try and accommodate their customers at all. When I arrived to pick up my rental, they wouldn't let me pick up my car because I didn't have my work ID which none of the emails requested the ID. Every email I received stated driver's license and credit card. I offered to provide him with my email and or bring the ID back. No accommodations. I took an Uber there so I had no way home and he just simply dismissed me. Told me the ID proves I work there. I told him so does my outlook account. He could send me an email to verify. He kept saying in the contract (as if the employees actually get that). Everything with the state of Florida is handled in Tallahassee. I hope that they renegotiate a new contract with someone else in the near future. read more

Really disappointed with the last few times I've rented here. Today, I cancelled my reservation because they did not have one clean car to rent me. The cars were filthy. Last time I rented, which was about a month ago, the center console was full of junk left from previous user. Also heard same story that the car cleaning company didn't show up. If they're not showing up, get a new company. There are plenty of car washing services that would be glad to take your business. If you accept a reservation, you need to have clean cars ready for your customers. No excuses. read more

What an experience today! Please I warn you, never go to this Budget location ever again! Today I went into this location to pick up an elite 7 seater SUV only to go to this location and be disrespected, disappointed and my day ruined! The owner wanted to give me a Kia Sorrento and although I wasn't happy about it I still went to check out the car. As soon as I opened the vehicle, I was hit with the smell of smoke. Please keep in mind the smell of smoke hit me through my mask. When I went back to the owner, Jesus, to tell him that this was unacceptable option because of the smoke and that my asthmatic mother would no be able to sit in a car with the overwhelming smoke smell, Jesus said the car smells like shampoo not smoke. When I asked for an alternative due to the need for a car immediately, he was reluctant to help me. I even suggested a large car which again he said he didn't have it and I had to take a smoke filled car. The situation got from bad to worse when I went outside and observed a Ford Expedition in the lot that was available. In the process of looking for an alternative, I got wet in the rain. When I went back inside of the establishment to ask about the vehicle, Jesus said the car was an Elite vehicle and that I could not get it because it was booked by someone else. When I argued that I had the same Elite reservation and that an actual customer (me) was there, he still said no. The situation escalated when I called my husband into intervene as I felt like this man was becoming disrespectful towards me for no reason, Jesus proceeded to say I threatened him and that he would not rent me a car anymore. Even when my husband came to assist me as I was shaking and my blood pressure was elevated due to the stress of the situation, Jesus proceeded to lie on me to my husband, not provide an adequate explanation as to why he would not rent me a vehicle I reserved weeks ago and when my husband asked for a business card, he refused to provide one and told us to get out of his establishment. In all the year of my life, I have never been disrespected or humiliated the way that I experienced today. Because of this stressful experience, I plan to report him and take ever step necessary to ensure this does not happen to another person. I caution you not to go to this location! read more

Either they make you sit in the waiting area very long time after a reserved reservation for they completely don't give you the car you ordered. Worse experience ever! The guy seemed upset from the beginning as if I was bothering him by being there. Of course they did not have the car I reserved so he gives me a car that needs oil change and maintenance. When I asked him to give me another gets upset tells me he can't and after a while of me explaining that I cant be driving north for HRS with a car that requires maintenance, he proceeds to give me another car which this time now was dirty inside and smelled like cigarettes and gas tank was empty‍ He suggested for me to go exchange it at the airport (which will Delay my trip but I was considering that option) When I told him I could do that, but instead take the other car because I was not going to take the one with an empty gas tank that reeked He got upset and said he was not going to do that, got very aggressive and canceled my reservation. What a waste of time and full of old men who don't have respect for anyone nor a bit of knowledge of customer service. Do not waste your time here. This place is a franchise, not a corporate location. This means they are not notified of any reservations ahead of time, nor is their inventory shared with other places. So when you show up with your reservation, it's pure luck whether or not they have a car available for you. Unfortunately they didn't have one for me and I had to go to another location. I gave them two stars though because the staff is generally decent and courteous. They seem like good people in a bad situation... This is the Fort Lauderdale airport location, but probably is valid at all locations. I reserved with Fastbreak, which promises immediate pickup, like Hertz Gold, etc. When I arrived there were 8 people in line - they do not have a garage station. I was not too concerned because that should have taken 10 minutes. Well apparently this location not only does NOT prepare the documents in advance, they also accept reservations not made with fast break. IT TOOK 45 MINUTES for 8 customers. As a Budget Rapid Rewards member who rents a car several times a month I was stunned at how unbelievable unprofessional the service is at this location if you are trying to rent a moving truck. I made a reservation and got a confirmation. I called while driving from Orlando to confirm my vehicle. The receptionist took my number and promise to call if they were any issues. I got there and my wife left with my car because I was confident that if they were any issues they would have called me. I walked in and was told that they did not have a vehicle for me. The receptionist said she called her boss and he was looking for a vehicle for me. She called him at 12:04 and I'm writing this review at 1pm and he has not called back. She tried texting him but he still did not respond, even though he is aware that a customer is waiting in the office. I called budget reservation and was informed that a inventory manager would call me back. I received no call back. I called U haul and got a truck within 5 minutes. I drove over to the location and the truck was waiting for me. Advice - Avoid this place if you want a moving truck. This is not the first time we rent a car, and we decided to try Budget as their prices were very competitive. my husband went to pick up the car and was very clear that we DID NOT want any insurance on the car. The rep said ok, sign here, so my husband signed and took the car. a week later, we get charged double for the rental, we call to find out what happened and they charged us insurance. we told them we declined insurance, and they said that we signed the contract and that even if we said we didn't want insurance that we should have read the contract before signing. they refunded us 50% of the insurance, but we are definitely not doing business with them again as we feel robbed since signed trusting that the rep would follow our instructions. read more

They lease equipment which is not road safe. I had a hitch break on me, dropped and smashed my car to hell. Later I find out that the wirebox for the stop lights/breaks/etc were non functional. I am now stranded for a few days in central FL while my insurance company gets all the ducks in order. Aside from that they are not timely with getting you equipment. But after my experience I wish they would have told me that they couldn't help me. I put in a reservation, probably 2 weeks in advance, for a truck. The day came..."The truck needs an oil change"...2 hours later..."This truck has bad tires we have to get you another"...another hour later, I finally get a truck. All this time I am paying movers to load a truck that doesn't exist. Really, don't worry about dollars and cents. This was a cheap rent, but check another budget, or go to another company altogether. Rented car, showed up to get car. No car, and the reason was so they say is because i did not answer my phone when they called the day before. I rented a mustang months in advance. True they called. I called them back twice and no answer. I am a nurse on a med-surg oncology floor. I work 12 hr days. I leave my house at 6am, return home after 8pm. I have no time to sit on hold. We had a contract. They had no intention of ever honoring that contact. The employee said we never have that car here. I asked why then would you lie and say you did? Then I asked for any car please. Do not schedule a rental truck with this facility. After a long wait in line, Jesus actually laughed and said "well I have your truck but no keys!" They sent me a rental confirmation and obviously took zero steps to ensure they could meet their commitment. They weren't even able to accommodate me with a larger truck. Jesus offered extremely poor customer service and couldn't even provide the address for the second facility that he referred me to which "should" have the truck I needed. BEWARE NO DROP BOX I rented a 16 foot truck out of state and was set to return to this location. I arrived at 6pm on a Saturday (they close at 5) and an associate was present but refused to open the door and let me drop off the key. On top of this they do not have a drop box. I had to catch a flight and could not return the truck the following day. I would recommend nearby Teds movers as they do have a budget truck drop box. Terrible service and I am still amazed a truck rental company doesn't have a drop box. read more

I attempted to rent a truck here and was told that I could not waive the extra insurance fees. I looked over the contract where it plainly stated that the insurance was optional, pointed out the poster on the wall which plainly stated that the insurance was optional, and even called the toll free 800 number and had them call the person working at the desk to tell her that that insurance was optional. Now I knew this was incorrect because I had rented from Budget only 15 days earlier (same 16' truck size, non-commercial) without taking the optional insurance, but the person working the counter refused to rent the truck to me without charging extra for insurance LDW! Even telling the CSR from Budget's main office that they would have to speak to her regional manager in order to get her to back off. Even though the CSR offered to comp me the insurance, I decided with stubborn service like this I was better off renting from someplace else. You will likely be better off too. read more

They are rude, inconsiderate of people's time, was charged $30 extra for the car being 5 mins late even though I called to let them know I would be there later than the time I should have been but I did call was told not to worry about it. I also realized after i had walked out getting ready to walk home because they wouldn't help me out and saw I got charged and had to go back in and the man says to me laughing oh so sorry the computer does that when u are late dropping off! But I'm sure there was a way to take it off but they didn't find the need to help me out at all. ***Stay Away*** The owner is a thief!!!! I paid extra to bring the car on empty as I booked online and when I pick up the car he removed that service without my authorization. When I bought the car on empty, he charged my credit card over $300. The owner wouldn't compromise and the local Corporate District manager never returned my call. It's obvious why they suck as a company and had to endorse 1990's Jessica Simpson to market their brand.
