3 Stars - Nice Property, But My Day Pass Experience Fell Short…read moreI booked a Day Pass for Hotel Indigo in Vinings through ResortPass, hoping for a relaxing day by the pool with breakfast, lunch, and a cocktail or two. The property itself was nice, but unfortunately, my day ended much earlier than planned.
The positives:
Check-in was easy, and Janell assisted me upon arrival. The hotel is well decorated, and the lobby has plenty of comfortable seating.
The Day Pass included access to the seasonal outdoor pool and heated whirlpool with a waterfall. The whirlpool was definitely soothing! There were plenty of tables and seating with umbrellas, along with small tables beside the chaise lounge chairs, which were perfect for holding your water or drink. Lounge chairs are first come, first served.
There were also plenty of towels available at the pool.
I arrived early enough to catch breakfast before the 10:30 AM cutoff. Kat was very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed yogurt with fruit, granola, and honey, along with coffee and a mix of orange and cranberry juice.
The pass also includes access to the fitness center, although I didn't use it, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi and self-parking. Parking was a breeze, and I also noticed charging stations for electric vehicles.
Now for the reason behind my 3-star rating...
This is a CASHLESS property, so cards are required for all purchases. Outside food and beverages are not allowed, which I completely understand when food and drinks are available for purchase on-site.
However, the bar doesn't open until 4 PM.
Around 12:30 PM, I inquired about getting a cocktail. Janell initially said she would need to ask her manager if she could make a drink for me, but then said the manager would not be in at all.
That was extremely disappointing.
If outside beverages aren't permitted and you're selling a Day Pass experience, I think guests should have a reasonable option to purchase beverages during daytime pool hours. I had planned to spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool, have lunch, and enjoy a cocktail. Once I realized that wasn't going to happen, I packed up my things and left.
For anyone considering the Day Pass, also keep in mind: no outside food or beverages, no smoking, no speakers, no pets, and no glass at the pool. There is also no lifeguard on duty.
Overall, the property was attractive, clean, and had some nice amenities. The whirlpool was relaxing, breakfast was enjoyable, and the staff members I encountered were pleasant. But I couldn't truly enjoy the experience I had anticipated.
For a pool Day Pass, especially when outside food and beverages are prohibited, having the bar unavailable until 4 PM was a major miss for me.
Nice property, but my relaxing pool day ended up being more of a relaxing pool morning.
