We booked a moving truck 2 months in advance. We got a call on Labor Day weekend from Mohammed, days before we move states, stating that our truck isn't available and for us to call customer service. He assured me that they would move our reservation to Bloomington or Minneapolis since they will have trucks available. Customer service told me that there are zero trucks available and that we are SOL. Not only were we deceived, but Mohammed lacked empathy and was short and rude on the phone. Budget is a franchise operation, but when you call this location nothing applies to them that the Budget 1-800 number tells you. My business requires a 89" (or higher) interior height truck for the pallets that we need to transfer from warehouse to warehouse. However they never have one available even if we pre-order it from the 1-800 number. Supposedly any size truck they have is available if you order it ahead of time, but every time we do this we end up not getting the truck we need. Complaints to both the customer help line and the Burnsville location end up with the same old excuses. So they either have rented out the truck to someone else beforehand or they just don't care. Customer service is slow, last time took over 30 minutes to get the truck. Also the guy before me in line last time was complaining about the car size not being large enough and the customer services response was to move the car seat back...really? Sad thing is I don't have much to recommend for another company. read more

He is very friendly and has always reserved the best cars for us for the rental period we requested. We have never had any problems with any of the cars we have driven from here and every car has felt very smooth and safe. I highly recommend coming here for car rentals from Mohamed! read more

I rented a car for in-town traveling. I was supposed to be charged for a weekly rate. I received a GREAT DEAL from this location. I was charged 298$ for one week including taxes. However, on the day I returned the car, I was charged for 358$. There were late fee of 10$. I don't understand why I was charged for late fee as I only used the car for 6 days, not 7 days yet and I returned the car during OPEN hours. Furthermore, there was a surcharge of 42$. All these fees were not told at all at the beginning. Pls avoid this location or you can give it a try if you want to know how it feels to get ripped off. read more

If i could give ZERO i would. I returned a budget rental truck after using it, to this location. An employee called me the next day stating he was "calling to help me out" by saying i can come in and fill up the gas tank myself bc we knowingly had to drop it off w the gas tank not full and knew we wpild incur a fee via the contract of $30 flat rate + local diesel rate (2.50/gal). Soo this employee cont to nag me saying i need to come back and do it now. Need to. I told him, im moving this wknd hence the truck and that i had obligations all the next morning he wanted me to come in bc he had another renter for that truck. He cont to escalate tells me i need to do it, is harrassing me at this point. I also pointed out i wouldnt feel comfortable bc i wouldnt have insurance since my contract ended when i dropped it off. He cont to say, IM TRYING TO DO YOU A FAVOR, YOU'RE WASTING MY TIME. i said i can't make it there amd its also your job. He says now hes going to charge me 9.99/gal and $40 flat fee, i tell him you can't do that, there's a contract, he said you have a card on file then yells im staying late for you ( mind you that store closes at 2pm on sunday and he called me at 220pm) cont to yell i need to pick up my kids- hangs up. ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL, DISRESPECTFUL. AND he continued to overcharge me! Customer service got an earfull and they corrected that asshole's doing bc he did charge me 9.99 gal which isnt in the contract at all!!!!! NEVER USING BUDGET TRUCK AGAIN BECAUSE OF THIS ONE INDIVIDUAL. I have rarely written these before but I have never been so blatantly disrespected before read more

Here's my experience. I reserved a truck from Budget for a cross country move and received both an immediate confirmation of the reservation as well as a follow up confirmation just a couple days before the rental date. The night before the rental date, at the end of the business day, I received a call that they didn't have a truck for me. The person on the phone offered nothing but to tell me of the lack of a truck and to go elsewhere. When I call them to complain, the person referred me to their national call center. The call center took the information with a promise to call back in 3 hours (they didn't). When I called them back, they also had nothing to say other than go elsewhere. Their response to my question of what is the purpose of a confirmation was that it didn't guarantee a vehicle and there was nothing they could do. Since there wasn't a down payment required, there wasn't any financial penalty to be pursued. I think anyone reading this can see what a bind this puts their customers in. read more

This location also rents Avis, which is what I rented. The cool thing to note is that they get most of their cars from the airport, which I don't think is something a lot of companies will do for you. This opens up a lot of "specialty" cars you'd be paying nearly double for from the airport. I've done this in the past, and was almost going to do it again, but I decided to stop into this location one day to see what they could do. The owner, Mohammed, is there constantly, and will do whatever it takes to make sure you are satisfied. I was assured that I would be able to get the car that I wanted for my special occasion. When I arrived to pick-up the vehicle, he had this grin on his face and told me he got me something good. It was a brand new 2015 Escalade. I opted for the insurance as I was only going to rent the vehicle for one day, and it's a $100,000 vehicle. All in all, I got out of there paying WAY less (even with $90 insurance), than I did when I've rented Escalades or Navigators from the airport (without insurance). Now, turns out the Escalade had some problems. I realized the air conditioning never worked. The car was a little beat up for having less than 4,000 miles on it. That wasn't Mohammed's problem though, as it was driven down from the airport, not sure how the person didn't catch that, it was 85 degrees outside. I was sweating even with the windows rolled down. Unfortunately, this location was closed so I ended up having to do the switch at the airport. Avis took care of me though. Things were a little rough at the airport, but I won't go into that in this review. Anyway, if you're needing a car for just around town or a special occasion, don't forget about your "neighborhood" locations. They can get you a better deal, they are much friendlier, and you don't have to deal with the airport hassle. Often times they can get you the same car anyway. Anytime I need a car for around town (usually a few times a year), I'm definitely coming back! Thank you! read more

At first I had no issue with these people. It was after when it came to the deposit. I paid a cash deposit on the truck. He refused to give me the CASH back. He HAD to give me a check. It was a personal business wells fargo check at that. meaning I couldn't even take it over to walmart to deal with it. I don't bank at wells fargo, I'm not the biggest fan of wells fargo, they were the angels in this story, and that is saying something. When I was putting down my deposit, I didn't have any 10s, so i had to do $160. He said give them the reciept of the deposit when i came to pick it up and show them the proof of the deposit. Thats what I did. He didn't even look at it. He didn't acknowledge it. Me being in a hurry as I was also babysitting a couple kids and in a hurry to get to the bank now that I had to cash a check before they closed, didn't sit there to quickly do the math. I got to apple valley and started thinking that something wasn't right about the math. I pulled over then and pulled out my calculator and my final reciept and did the math. He shorted me $10. I proceeded to call him. The guy then said well it's human error and I said and I have to drive all the way back to you because of your error what are you going to do about me having to use my gas for all of this running around for YOUR error. He proceeded to SWEAR at me with the kids in the car who could hear him. I had to hang up because they could hear him. I then turned around and went back. To only wait about 20+ minutes for him to figure out his all of a sudden rush of customers. He is stuck on the speed of slow. I got the $10 back. I went to the back, wells fargo, to cash the check to find out that I then have to pay a fee of $7.50 that Budget WILL NOT cover to cash even though he told me to go there to cash it, so in turn their CUSTOMERS have to pay to cash the check. My bank is closed for the day. I also didnt want to give him the chance to cancel the check, and deposit it into my bank account and wanted it to be cashed ASAP. Mind you the guy I dealt with is the SITE MANAGER. I then turned around and contacted corporate and what do they say? What is the problem? This company is corrupt! I am sure that If I find my way up the managerial ladder that NOTHING will be done with this problem. I will be doing some more emailing and calling. I have a life too, but this has gone far enough.
