It's A-Ok due to the price of things, bit on the expensive side. I find that depending on where Budgen's are dictates the prices. However I did catch a couple of bits that had been reduced. read more

Came…read moreback to find no space and door just opened enough to get shopping through, then I heard a teenager in the car say 'don't damage my mother's car'. I gave him his hat back which he had dropped beside my car and told him that there was no damage and tried to explain they had not left me enough room to get in. He then said 'don't argue with me' and launched into an unprovoked tirade of abuse. His mother returned and he kindly told me to F*** off then got out of his car and took a picture of me although I told him this would be harassment - which it was. It is so nice to have a chance to mix with the upper classes at Waitrose, you just don't get this at other supermarkets.

Really nice to get that sense of community shop from a big chain store. Original review: Great size for a local Waitrose, big enough to be the catch-all, but not a megastore by any stretch of the imagination. It's hard to review a Waitrose it seems. If you really need a lot of info maybe try wikipedia. (btw, their bread counters are always brilliant).

This Sainsbury's also has a cafe area, a hot food counter, electrical and clothes areas. It is a very large store and takes quite a while to look around, although it is laid out really well. There is a dedicated desk in the clothes and electrical area that can help you with any stock that isn't out on display. It has a large fruit and veg section as well as a bakery but the frozen food isle are not that big. Good place to do your weekly shop as you have a marks and Spencer next door and the petrol is always at a reasonable price compared to other stations. Staff are also helpful and friendly.

She asked me the occasion for why I was buying the ingredients. I informed her that it was for my 25th wedding anniversary and we had a lovely conversation. After that, I continued my shopping when this particular member of staff approached me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers courtesy of Waitrose. The prices here are slightly dearer than at a large Tesco Supermarket - but they are always well stocked with their products and fruit/ vegetables have always been fresh and well in date. This is a very busy store that is open 24 hours but it has lots of parking. They also provide electric scooters for disabled or older customers. Always seem to have a good selection of food and the staff are always helpful and willing to go and check for things. This is one of the stores that offer internet shopping so if you do not feel like navigating the queues then you can stay at home and shop on the internet. They have a system in place, where by if you register at the shop you can buy your goods and select a delivery slot - usually for the next day. They keep your frozen food frozen and chilled food chilled - this is of great advantage to people relying on public transport to get around -they get to choose what they want without having to pay for a taxi or struggle with several bags onto a bus.

Also as usual a great wine selection with more than fair prices. Also got some cash at the ATM outside and some gas at the Tesco Gas Station right beside the store. We were happy - as usual - with our shopping that day.
