I am actively in the process of looking for another gym. I only use it for the cardio equipment and…read morelight weights. The state of the cardio equipment is absolutely pathetic. They simply don't keep it up --whereas just about every other gym is on top of this basic upkeep. Many of the TVs don't work. Some recumbent bikes are broken. Sometimes, you have to try 3-5 machines in order to find one that both functions and has a working TV. Earlier this year, I had to complain about broken/not functioning treadmill TVs a total of about 6x, between emails and speaking to the manager/front desk people before it was repaired. On desk person apologetically said he kept telling management but they did not respond. That should have been my first red flag to leave. I will say the desk staff are very nice. The gym is clean and for me, it was conveniently located. But it's a waste of my money and time when I can go to a neighboring gym that has cardio equipment that WORKS and weights/strength equipment at a fraction of the cost.

One of the convenient aspects of a Retro Fitness membership is the ability to visit any branch for…read morea workout. For $20 per month, the variety of machines, weights, workout spaces, and convenience of televisions on many of the cardio-type machines make this a great value. The Fairless Hills Retro Fitness is far and away the best location among the half-dozen where I have worked out. The owners of this location are often on the premises, and it is easy to see that they put plenty of effort into what the patron experiences. The floors, equipment, and locker areas are clean - much cleaner than any of the other locations - and every time I work out I see staff wiping equipment down, vacuuming, and tidying up. The machines (and the televisions) are in good working order. There is a power drink / smoothie station that is inviting. The hours are reasonable (I'm one of those folks who is often in there closing the place down at 11pm, or working out on Friday nights or holidays.) I have also invested in a handful of training sessions (for an additional fee) and wish I could do it more often. The trainers are great at targeting routines that are perfect for one's level (and the level one aspires to.) There is a good wifi connection, so it is easy to listen to a streaming service on one's personal device. There is a movie theater with cardio-type machines where one can enjoy a commercial film while exercising. This facility offers various classes, which I have not taken advantage of. Sometimes, the background music can get a bit loud, particularly in the evenings (but staff will crank it down a notch upon request). I wish they offered coffee at the smoothie bar.... This location is also comfortable no matter what one's gender. Yep. 5 stars. Great gym.

If you enjoy group fitness, this is by far the most excellent crew i have ever experienced. Each has their own style and all are very effective which adds variety to your workout and skills. Kickboxing has been sacred for me, as it is challenging for both mind and muscles, making each session an escape from reality ending in a overdose of endorphins and physical exhaustion. Mind cleared, sleeping better than ever, and sweating out all the stresses of the day. If you have not tried kickboxing, it is a fantastic workout and mental release, highly addictive, highly reccommended!

I have trained at Tri-State a few times when I was up in the area visting some friends. I like to get my training in and have to travel around a lot. They are about an hour away from me and affiliated with the gym I usually go to so they let me come in to train. I called ahead to ask. They didn't charge me and welcomed me with open arms as if I was one of their own. The instructors were knowledgeable, helpful and made sure I was getting everything good. He gave everyone individual attention and explained why we did some techniques this way or that way to help it make sense. This is helpful especially if you are having a hard time executing the technique (like me) in understanding what I was suppose to be doing. I highly recommend Tri-State. I only tried the grappling, but the other classes looked like they were being taught in the same way and all the students were getting a great workout (the kickboxing).
