Cleveland Water and Fire Restoration

(10 reviews)

Had a sewer backup while doing a jetting and the plumber called Cleveland Water & Fire Restoration…read moreto come help. They took lots of pictures and set up fans and humidifiers until the cleanup team could come out. Billy Luke and Leon came out today and did amazing job getting all the sewage and sediment out. In 3 hours They disinfected and sanitized, tore iut a wooden storage unit, ripped up damaged flooring, through out damaged items and carted it away. Everything is being handled through my home insurance by this company and I don't have to do anything once I field the claim. Highly recommend!!

In order to best understand how horribly scummy this company is, let's understand the background…read morefirst. I am a first time home buyer, who just bought a house in august. We realized we had a hole in the roof of an addition on the house towards the end of October. Water leaked in through this hole, soaking the frame within and finally leaking through the ceiling of the addition, which is when we actually noticed it. Unfortunately, by this point, the damage was done. From October through nearly the end of November, I was frantically calling contractors and roofers everywhere to get someone to fix all of this. Some would fix the roof, but couldn't fix the inside. Others would fix the ceiling but wouldn't touch a rolled roof. Eventually, I stumbled upon Keselman Construction Group, who said they would fix it all. And they suggested I also work with Cleveland Water and Fire Restoration - the worst partnership they have ever made. It all started out like a typical sales person pitch. The "first responder" would come out and take a million pictures, with the moisture meter and infra red camera to show me how much water damage I have everywhere (in this room and the garage that shares a roof). But it felt as if he didn't actually know what the workers were going to do, because he told me that CWFR would be able to demo things and haul all of the damaged items away. (They apparently don't do that btw, or at least, they workers they sent out said they don't do that) So he writes me a quote for $3500, and strongly advises me to open a claim. He pushily reassures me that insurance will cover everything and that they have a team dedicated to ensuring they get paid by insurance. So I open a claim. Worst mistake ever - because now they are going to rob us all blind. Here is the timeline following all of that mess: They send out first truck. The workers check it out and say they can't do anything because the hole isn't sealed. They also tell me they don't demo stuff, and probably won't be able to do anything in the garage. They leave. KCG seals the hole, I ask for a new quote because some time (2 weeks) has passed from the initial quote and the damage doesn't actually look that bad. CWFR comes back with a HIGHER quote of $5000. Mind you, nothing new has happened or changed for them to come back with an even higher number?! I call doug blake to discuss this new quote, to which he haughtily states ""I don't see why you're upset, insurance is going to pay for it." (tbh this is very rude and dismissive and not good customer service.) Whatever, I am tired of arguing and my house being a mess, so I let them come. They stated I had all this water/dampness in the inital quote in my addition and the garage, and yet all they addressed/mitigated was this 5' by 8' area in the addition. (see picture attached) How much do you think this would cost? For a little bit of 'antimicrobial spray' on the beam and in the garage, two fans, a dehumidifier, and an "air scrubber" that all ran off of MY electricity, they charged $4415. They didn't do anything else. If I were to do this again, I would've taken just a little bit longer to do more research as there are other water mitigation and mold removal companies that do a better job with communicating amongst their coworkers and respectfully with the customer. I would give this company negative stars if I could.
