In all fairness, compared to any other road stop location you might encounter, this is a solid 5 stars. The selection was varied, with a salad bar, hot buffet dishes, pastries and baked goods, and ice-cold drinks. And if I weren't vegan, I probably would have loved it. But given that I am, there wasn't much I could have eaten. Instead, I grabbed a pumpkinseed roll which was fine, albeit slightly overpriced (as is everything here - being that there is little else in the vicinity, they can afford to charge more because people will pay it, if the old timers swarming the place were any indication). My parents, however, loved it. And while I wouldn't say you should go out of your way to check this place out, if you do find yourself craving something semi-substantial on your next road trip, try and hold out until you reach this spot.

A latte macchiato (without flavored syrup) or a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice (33 cl) will set you back EUR3.90. A chocolate croissant: EUR1.90. I have to say the organic croissant was the bomb. It's generously filled with a homemade chocolate hazelnut paste. You can see little pieces of hazelnut in the cream. Baked into the top were thinly sliced, toasted hazelnuts. The service is basically friendly according to northern German standards. The barista smiled at me and the cashier with her strict all business attitude reminded where I am. They get 4 stars because I find the prices a tick too high and because at a place like this, I expect the bathrooms to be free.
