This was a project we were hoping to hold off on until a few months later, but ended up needing to be done sooner. Because of this, we were unable to be there in person to meet with contractors. I ended up calling 7 roofing companies to go out to the property and get quotes. Jett Gillis went out the next day and was able to get me a quote very quickly. Every other company I called either told me that they were too busy to give us a quote, completely failed showed up to the appointment, quoted us much higher, or gave me a bit of an unpleasant attitude. I even had to explain to one highly-rated company what a soffit was not once, not twice, but three times! (A soffit is the underside of the roof.) Horner Roofing is the only company that checked every box. They were: - professional - communicative - friendly - reasonably priced. Because of our work, I have communicated and done business with countless companies in various realms of home improvement. He was very kind and addressed all of our concerns. Our roof was damaged by a bad storm here and had to have trees removed from our house first. THAT experience was a nightmare !!! He kept us informed and worked well with our insurance adjuster. His crew worked very hard and long hours to finish the roof. From 6:40am -5:00 pm !! They cleaned up very well, only found 3 nails !! Lol The gutters and downspouts were put on the second day after the roof. Everything looks GREAT !! Have had compliments from all the neighbors too !! That's a plus !! Do it again only to find out that the parts they have ordered actually don't work for the our house. But that doesn't stop them from using the wrong parts . Only realized that the parts were wrong after they were told. Then they order the parts again. A total mess. A project that started in the beginning of Feb is still not done. The project left leaks through the windows. DO NOT ASK THEM TO REPLACE VINYL SIDING. After 6 months of back and forth, the windows still leak whenever there is a thunderstorm. Maumee River came and did a water test. Which is pouring a weak stream of water on the window and concluded that the windows dont leak. To date, wheneve there is a strong thunderstorm with wind, the window leaks. Now Maumee river refuses to do anything about it or give me a discount that I can use to get the leak fixed. Also refuse to let me talk to the owner because they say he is too busy. They did not do a thing right with the siding. At every step I had to complain to them. Starting from the person who estimated the cost and decided what kind of parts we needed, every single person who worked on the siding messed it up. Maumee River should either fix the leak or pay me to get the leak fixed.
