First-Hand Experience: Having lived nearby in Manchester and supporting the club even closer to them, Liverpool, I know a lot about Wrexham. I saw them play live on two occasions, and both times the crowd was one of the most rabid ever. Most recently in 2007, so I need a re up on my Wrexham experiences. The year I watched them live, was the 200th year the stadium had been around. Wow.
So this club is in Wales. But it's a lot more than just a Welsh club. For instance, amazingly, did you know that Wrexham is not only the oldest footy team in Wales, it's the THIRD OLDEST TEAM IN THE WORLD, daring back to 1864, with a stadium dating back to 1807. Amazing.
As if that weren't enough reason to give it a 5 star rating, they have loud support, a big stadium, they're one of the few welsh teams playing in the English league, their ground played host to the first ever Wales international match, they knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup in 92, they beat Porto in the European Cup Winners Cup once, they won trophies like the FL Trophy and tons of Welsh Cups, they're basically just absolutely awesome.
And did I mention they are a FAN OWNED team as of 2011. And we love fan owned teams. So it's a very easy 5 stars for Wrexham. Now here's a review of the stadium:
Intercourse is fun, but don't race through intercourse because then Missy E will call you a 1 Min Man (or woman), and they'll name a stadium after you for all the wrong reasons (the Racecourse Ground, perhaps).
The largest stadium in North Wales, the 5th largest in Wales, with a capacity of 15k (10k sometimes), it opened all the way back in 1807, I mean this place is steeped in history and has an intense atmosphere, too. They even name their big stand "The Kop" after Anfield's stand. They once had 35k people show up to watch them face Manchester United.
This all leads up to one thing... such a grand stadium, even for a non league team, and they are the pride of the conference and destined to get back in the football league someday. Add to the fact that it's a supporter owned team (Wrexham AFC) and it's 5 stars across the board for these Welsh wonders.
