We visited Bryers Heritage Farm yesterday, Sunday 17th February 2013. We arrived before 4pm and despite a large sign outside declaring the place to be open until 5pm on Sundays, the sign on the tearoom door read 'closed', despite there being people seated inside. We recieved very unfriendly looks from staff when we looked through the glass door, and despite standing outside in the cold for several minutes very obviously trying to find out what was what and where we should go, we were completely ignored, even when one member of staff walked out of the tearoom and right past us, and again on her return.
The place is very poorly signposted internally, and we were at a loss as to where we were supposed to go in order to pay for entry, or even to gain entry at all, despite there being plenty of signs advertising that entry cost £1. We visited with the express intent of seeing the farm shop, and it was not signposted at all beyond the main entrance to the whole complex. All we could find were the toilets, and even they had no toilet paper in them! After 20 minutes of wandering around and finding nothing but locked doors and dead ends, we gave up and went home. No tearoom, no farm shop, no findable entrance to the farm. All-in-all, a highly disappointing experience and a complete waste of time. We will not be visiting again. read more
