5/5 - Nature, Dust, and Jeff's Slightly Disappointing Printing Company…read more If you're in Bryce Canyon City and NOT renting an ATV from Bryce Wildlife Outfitters, what are you even doing with your life? We did the 4-hour tour, which was the absolute sweet spot--long enough to see everything, short enough to still walk the next day. Jeff, our ATV guru and cartographer-in-chief, gave us excellent instructions and very thorough maps. We were all set for adventure, except... the lake on the map wasn't blue. Not in real life (it was gorgeous), only on the map. Apparently Jeff's printer missed that note and he was genuinely disappointed about it, which made it 10x funnier. A+ for effort and printer-induced emotional honesty. The ride took us through Dixie National Forest, which sounds like a theme park but is actually full of 3,000+ year-old bristlecone pines that make you rethink all your life choices. We had epic views of hoodoos, mountain vistas, and the reservoir that was a beautiful blue. Wildlife count: * Osprey? Unfortunately None. * Prairie dogs? Also nope. * Their homes? Absolutely. We stared into a lot of empty holes with hopes and dreams but nothing. In total, we covered about 45 miles and only said "WOOHOO!" about 137 times. If you're looking for a dusty, scenic, laughter-filled ride with some seriously ancient trees and an unreasonably charming host named Jeff--this is it. Would 10/10 ride again. Jeff, hire a new printer. You deserve it.

We took our…read moremom here for Mother's Day after several days of hiking Zion and Bryce and let me tell you...this was the perfect way to spend the afternoon! Jeff was awesome and gave a thorough explanation of the trail we would be following and he instilled us with confidence for this unguided tour. Our mom was a little nervous about not having a guide, but after getting out on the trail she loved it!! The views were absolutely incredible (see pictures!!) and all of the scenery along the trail was great to take in. If you're out in this beautiful part of the country make sure to check out Bryce Wildlife Outfitters, Jeff is the man!

We met outside the Bybee's Steppingstone Motel where he picked us up. Our guide was great at teaching us how to operate the ATV and took us on an easy to follow trail with great scenic points. We stopped a few times to take pictures. Side note: If you're staying in Tropic, it is convenient to stay at the Bryce Canyon Inn, have a nice meal at Stone Hearth Grille (open 5pm-9pm), then do an the ATV tour. We made an RSVP at 5pm when Stone Hearth Grille opened then did the sunset ATV tour at 7 pm. We didn't feel rushed with time at all. Thank you Grand Staircase ATV Tours for such a fun evening on our first anniversary!

During our…read morerental period we had a flat tire and called the company and they were literally at our location of our rented cabin within five minutes to air it back up. The UTV had a small mechanical issue so they brought us another one to our cabin to replace the first one. When initially looking, we had checked another location in town that was more of a corporate ATV/UTV company and they had several red flags, and the business operations were rather discombobulated. We went with Utah Adventure Outfitters and had no issues and great customer service..

We each have very limited…read moreexperience/knowledge but the woman checking us in (I unfortunately can't remember her name) was very thorough and answered all my questions. We got the 4 hour experience. The best part of this whole thing was that they have a mapped out plan of everything you're going to do for your whole ride with an ipad/GPS in your vehicle so you know where you are and where you're going at all times. It takes the thinking out of something that might be a little nerve wracking if you're also new to this. There are sights we got to see that I'm not sure we would have if we hadn't done this. We loved the whole experience from the check in process to all the stops along the way and dropping the vehicle back off. If you're even slightly considering it, I say just do it! You won't regret it! (For experienced drivers they may have other routes to take but I'm not sure since that didn't apply to us)

Staying in Tropic UT for our Bryce Canyon National Park visit. Our Airbnb host recommended this…read moretrail to us and so glad they did. I don't think I'll enter Bryce Canyon any other way except through the Tropic Trail. The trailhead is accessed at the end of the dirt road in Tropic, UT. The elevation gain is very gentle on this trail. It is 3.5 miles out & back. This trail connects directly to the Navajo Loop and access to Peekaboo and Queens. It is a long walk but far less strenuous. You can enjoy the hike without having to hike out the top of the canyon. It is a great way to enter Bryce Canyon without the crowds. We hiked on Friday April 8th so the trail was dry and gravel trail. Fairly easy walk, very quiet and peaceful! It's sunny on some parts of the trail but there was shade on most of the Tropic Trail. I decided to walk a bit further to check out the switchbacks and the view of the amphitheater on the Navajo Loop trail, the trail adjacent to Thor's Hammer. Wall Street was closed off to hikers when we arrived at Navajo Loop so you cannot do the entire Navajo Loop. The best part about entering Bryce Canyon from Tropic Trail is that once you're done hiking, it is all downhill to your vehicle. Plus lots of decent places to eat and grab essentials in Tropic. Highly recommend!!

I usually rise about an hour before sunrise, brew a cup of coffee, unless it's already waiting at the front desk, throw on some layers, and make my way to the rim to see what the sky has in store. This point offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Bryce Amphitheater, where thousands of hoodoos ignite in fiery hues as the morning sun climbs. With each passing minute, the colors shift and the sky begins to paint itself. It's quiet and peaceful. Most visitors are still tucked into their warm beds, and for the few who stand beside me in the cold, I offer a knowing smile. We understand what it means to be here, to witness a moment that will live in our hearts long after the day has passed. From this vantage, you can access the Rim Trail, descend into Queen's Garden, or connect to the Navajo Loop for a variety of scenic hikes. The NPS recommends to do the hike in a clockwise direction due to the elevation slope at the end of the hike, but I wanted to be contrarian haha. It wasn't bad!
