After the adjuster initially denied the claim, I was eventually able to get them to send an engineer out by completing a survey outlining my concerns. They denied the claim again, this time stating there was no hail damage at all. After pushing further, I was able to get a second engineer to inspect the property. That engineer acknowledged hail damage on the fascia and gutters, but claimed the marks on the roof were not hail-related, writing: "These are the result of aggressive evaluation by others, not hail." They then invoked the appraisal clause. After consulting with a public adjuster, it became clear that pursuing the appraisal process would likely cost more than it was worth financially. In effect, the process left me with little practical choice but to walk away. I do not recommend Rural Mutual for any services.

He wanted to know if I had pictures? I found out he lives in the same county. Really? You couldn't drag your ass over here? Didn't hear from him again until 6 months later after I sent a nasty text to him. They are trying to cover up by saying that I had the roof replace before I filed my claim. FALSE!

Attempted to make an appointment to meet with them but apparently the call center forgot to tell the local office we were coming. Got there and they had no appointment scheduled and really didn't want anything to do with us. We waited a while but after no one really wanting to help us we left. Major disconnect between whoever takes the calls and schedules the appointments. Walk ins clearly aren't wanted or accepted so don't even try.

Free OFX connections which give you the state of the art web interface. They pay all my ATM fees regardless of how much or from what bank. I never get charged fees for anything. There is no minimum balance. You get a brokerage account when you open a checking account so you can buy stock or funds if you want but its not required. You can even open multiple accounts and have them linked together which is very helpful if you have personal and business transactions. Best of all, the people at the Middleton branch are terrific. Christine will know who you are and help you with anything regarding your account. She will greet you by your first name when you call. While they provide most banking activities, they cannot cash checks or take cash as a deposit. But keep in mind you can use any ATM for your cash needs and get reimbursed for fees.
