On a previous night photo meet for capturing fireworks I met with a friend and prepared my tripod-mounted camera after sunset for the fireworks display. While I fumbled in the deep blackness (mountain-top faaaar away from city lights), he strapped on one of these babies then, hands free for doing his setup, kept me in awe while I still fumbled with a tiny key-chain light. Later as we walked 30mins in the blackness lit by his headlamp that was incredibly powerful as compared to my meager key-chain light, we discussed this great light source, and I secretly vowed I would get one too. Searching online, I discovered models that cost more than $100, but eventually discovered a model with all the features I needed, plus at a reasonable price of less than $50. The RL6 by this company is so comfortable you'll forget it's on your forehead with the wide adjustable strap!! Comes with four AA batteries and the lamp unit even tilts!! It makes so much sense to have a light source usable anywhere and anytime, and keeping your hands free for whatever... this comes with a red light for night use so your night vision does get zapped by a bright white light, and three different intensities of white light, including a power-save mode, and a flashing light mode!!
