Oslo's city-sightseeing, hop-on, hop-off bus offers 14 stops. The buses have audio-guides in eight…read morelanguages. One person on the bus stated that theirs did not work but I was unable to determine if the problem was the person operating the audio-guide or the mechanics of the system. The buses also offer free Wi-Fi. You can purchase a 24 or 48 hour pass and a cancellation policy can be activated 24 hours before the buyers date of activation. The 14 stops include stops within the central city and some further out. If you were to ride the entire circuit without getting off it would take about 90 minutes. Waiting times for the next bus can be 5 minutes or 30 minutes. There are 5 buses and you have to change buses to reach all 14 stops. When you change buses the stop for you next bus can be hard to find and often a distance away. The Viking Ship Museum is one of those stops that is further out. There are 3 other museums within a 15 minute walk from the Viking museum including the Kon-Tiki museum. The $46.95 you pay for the bus does not include admission to the Royal Palace, museums or many other venues. If you only want to see the central city sights you probably will be able to walk or utilize an excellent public transport system. Getting to the more remote stops make the the hop-on and hop-off bus more desirable. In any event you are not going to be able to stop at every location and appreciate all it has to offer in a 24 hour pass. The hop-on and hop-off bus is only offered from May to September 30.

As hop on hop off buses go it was ok. Sold at a 90 minute ride but seemed much longer. Good…read moreoverview of the outside of the city, inside ci to y tours will require you to walk.

Bus terminals of this size and that run with this frequency are not common in the United States, so…read morethis was a new experience for me. The station is pretty clean and has wi-fi. I didn't do much exploring, as I went straight to/from my buses. I took the bus to Oslo Airport, which costed 180kr/adult, and was packed. You can buy your ticket at a machine inside the building, right by the door to the bus. You can also get it on the bus, but that is much more inconvenient and causes back up. The bus was spacious, clean, and fairly modern with air conditioning. If back in Oslo, I would take this bus again.

Oslo Bus Terminal is the main bus station serving Oslo, Norway. It is located beside Oslo Central…read moreStation and serves local buses to Akershus as well as domestic and international coaches. The station is five minutes walk from Oslo Central Station as well as the rapid transit station Jernbanetorget and the tram and city bus services at ground on Jernbanetorget. On the east side of the station is a tram station named Bussterminalen Grønland that allows the quickest transfers to the Ekeberg Line. I think they need to get a better bus system. It is way too overcrowded (heaven for pick pocketers), there is no air condition and most of the drivers are inconsiderate. They drive too fast not thinking of people standing up with nowhere to hold on to. I would rather walk.
