I've been to a lot of dentists. I had a horrible experience at Hanover st dental. I came to Aspen…read moreto see if they could fix it. The prices here are so much lower then anywhere else I've been. I've had a great experience with them. Everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful. Dr Steven's is amazing. I trust him 100%. I have extremely bad anxiety and he was so patient with me. Definitely recommend Aspen in Lebanon. I will never go anywhere else.

PREDATORY CORPORATE BILLING MILL--CHECK YOUR LEGER BEFORE PAYING. This facility operates on…read moreaggressive sales commission quotas, upcoding treatments to maximize corporate profits. They assume patients won't read the insurance codes or double-check the math. I went in for a front tooth restoration, but the staff completely ignored my consent to perform unauthorized work on the wrong tooth surface just so they could bill insurance for a high-payout Posterior/Back Tooth Composite (Code 2392). They left my front tooth completely broken. This is the second time this location has worked on the wrong area of my mouth. At checkout, an employee named Tessa subjected me to severe financial duress, refusing to let me leave the building unless I swiped my card for an outrageous $986.40. They claimed this was a "historical balance" for an August 20th cleaning, which was an outright lie since my active insurance already processed and fully covered that visit weeks ago. Their own printed statement proves today's filling was capped at a patient responsibility of exactly $102.00, meaning they overcharged my Visa card by $884.40. Their ledger is completely glitched with a negative balance because they manually forced this fake charge through. I have already called their corporate office and initiated an official chargeback dispute with One Credit Union. Formal fraud and malpractice complaints have been filed with the NH Attorney General's Consumer Protection Bureau, the State Dental Board (OPLC), the FTC, and the BBB. Do not let this predatory branch bully you or touch your teeth. I will get a lawyer up and you should too if you have been a victim or this place! & if you don't get your money back! WARNING: PREDATORY PRACTICE, MEDICAL MISCONDUCT & SALES METRIC SCHEMES. Do not trust this office. This corporate dental chain operates like a high-pressure retail store, upcoding treatments to hit daily production goals. They take advantage of patients assuming they won't look at the billing codes. I went in for a front tooth restoration. The clinical staff ignored my explicit instructions and performed an unauthorized procedure on the wrong tooth surface just to log billing code 2392 (Posterior/Back Tooth Composite) which commands a higher payout, leaving my front tooth broken. This is the second time they have worked on the wrong tooth area. Worse, at checkout, the staff (Tessa) held me under extreme financial duress. They flatly refused to let me leave the building unless I swiped my card for a massive $986.40 charge to cover a fabricated "historical balance" from an August 20th cleaning that my insurance already fully paid for weeks ago. Their own printed walk-out statement explicitly caps my true responsibility for the day at $102.00, meaning they forced an unauthorized overcharge of $884.40 out of my pocket and left my account with an impossible, glitched negative balance. They lie about active insurance to force immediate cash collection. Corporate fraud, consumer protection, and medical licensing complaints are officially logged with the NH Attorney General, the State Dental Board (OPLC), the FTC, the BBB, and my bank for a full fraud investigation. Avoid this predatory corporate mill at all costs.& don't be afraid to report them as well to all of these agencies and get a lawyer if they don't respond with a resolution! they will not get away with this! THESE REVIEWS ARE REAL!!!!! I'll spam with this again and again cause nobody has done anything! nobody's contacted me after I have contacted everyone I can! Olpc has reached back out and is investigating but Aspen has yet to even read my email response back after having someone from managment try to call me not happening what so you can try to lie and get me to help you cover your mistakes! Figure it out! Do your job! All you guys have done is try to reach out to get me on a phone call! Not happening you can respond to the email and refund me my money for your scammy services and look into why my charts are forged and insurance wasn't billed correct codes and was medically battered by the wrong procedures being performed more then once! I have and sent the proof! My cleaning with an added unapproved scaling was never submitted to my insurance cause they want to cover their tracks!

But then I noticed none of them are about the quality of the dental work. Some reviewers didn't even set foot in the office! Unfortunately, most people only review medical offices when they've had a bad experience. I realized it wasn't a fair characterization. I saw Dr. Santavicca when I was attending college near Lebanon, NH. I needed many things, including a wire brace, artificial crown, Invisilign, and finally composite veneers. This took about two years to complete. Not only did she make the best composite veneers I could have ever hoped for, but to this day many dentists comment on the quality of her work. She shaped them personally, and had to shape them in such a way to hide the spaces between my teeth that remained even after the Invisalign. This is very technically difficult to do, but she did it perfectly. Her bedside manner is everything you could hope for. Every trip to the office was pleasant and full of smiles from everyone, which I really appreciated. If only I could say that about my primary care doctor's office...

BEWARE of this practice, post is long but worth the read…read more I had been a patient for 3 years at this practice, and while always satisfied with my care, things changed with the introduction of a new provider. October 2025 at my regular cleaning, they were "running behind because of the new provider" (quote from my Hygentist Bev). She rushed me in, cleaned my teeth, took new X-rays, and she was off to get the new dentist for the exam. He introduced himself, gave a 2-minute exam, said " nice to meet me and off to the next patient. After his departure, Bev informed me that I needed two crowns and they should be done as soon as possible, for fear of further damage. Interesting....I had not reported any changes or pain. Off to the checkout I go. Checking out the total for the day was $328.00. Evaluation $70, Bitewing Four Image $100, and Prophylaxis $158. The estimate I was given for the two crowns total $4640.00. Wait....you want me to invest $4640.00, allowing someone who spent less than 5 minutes with me doing the work? Nope, getting a second opinion. AND!! I called the office and spoke with the office manager, Pam, about my experience. She told me they would/could do the work at the current price because after the new year, prices go up 5%. Found my wonderful previous provider, made the appointment, arrange for x-rays to be transferred. (See my review at Concord Smiles, 13 Wall St., Dr. Dulock) New appointment, all was going well until I found I needed new X-rays, Schell Dentistry had failed to provide the latest October 2025 and Dr. Dulock needed to see if any changes. Schell's office sent 2023 and 2024, but not 2025! Those of course, were the most important to see the changes for the impending new crown diagnosis. New X-rays were taken and after comparing, Dr. Dulock saw no changes from 2023 and 2024; he felt no crowns were needed at this time. He did mention that perhaps at some point in the future these fillings might need replacing, but not now. Yay, Dr. Dulock, thanks for taking the time! Today, December 16, I called Dr. Schell's office and again spoke with Pam to let her know the October 2025 X-rays were not sent and there had been an "error" perhaps on their end in transferring my files. She put me on hold and when she came back, told me the files had just been transferred. Don't need them today; I needed them yesterday. Pam also informed me that Concord Smiles "could" have called for the X-rays yesterday. Honestly, it took me two phone calls due to a busy signal to talk to her. "We are busy" was her reply when I pointed that out. And when I also pointed out that had the new provider, Dr. Mahlik taken the time to examine my x-rays, perhaps he would have come to the conclusion that no crowns were needed? She, Pam, became very frustrated with me and accused me of being "mean"? Seriously, I thought I was very much under control and being polite based on the service their practice had given me. She did wish me a Happy Holiday or have a nice day wish, it was a brief comment before hanging up on me. Moral of the story - get a second opinion, I'm VERY glad I did.

Well, now you know, but you wouldn't have known if I hadn't told you. His hygienists were cool and for the first time ever explained why flossing daily is so important. I then started to floss daily. Dr. Schell wins! The staff does sorta rush you through and the end of the visit is awkward. Do I stand here? Do I pay? What do I do? Oh, please, somebody tell me I'm so LOST! Eventually they tell you to stand HERE and pay THIS. I also got my teeth whitened with the system where they make a mold of your teeth and the goop goes in the trays that are made from the mold. My trays were uncomfortable and I went back in and they adjusted them. And the goop made my teeth hurt and made me ultra sensitive to sound, which is weird, but I've met somebody else who had that happen to so I am NOT the only one. Anyway, the system worked well and my teeth are white as new snow in Enfield Center. Yay! I also thought it was cool that Dr. Schell was, at least when I saw him, on faculty at Dartmouth. Fancy. He did send my records quite expediently when I moved and changed dentists, and that was very nice. I would see Dr. Schell again, if I ever moved to NH again, which will NEVER ever ever happen. So maybe you can see Dr. Schell instead.

Less than two hours after an appointment of two fillings and a cap, the injection sites where Dr. Santavicca had poked me for novocaine had stopped aching. The hardware is as good as I have had in 40+ years of modern dentistry, and the software technology seems to be the optimal level of sophistication (including 3D imaging that accesses "before", "during", and "after" tooth alteration procedures). Another thing I noticed with this nearly all-female staff was that their dexterity was top notch the entire time, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. So, it is first thing in the morning, and both the dentist and technician were coordinating very complex checklists of elements with patient, but cheerful airs. Many times I've felt humiliated because I had to wait for my insurance to kick back in before I could proceed with whatever procedure she wanted to perform. And those procedures that she and her colleagues did perform, they did not perform well. I've had numerous problems that were her fault, and yet, I had to pay for her mistakes. I went to another dentist who confirmed that costly mistakes were made. I would not recommend her practice.

As I was leaving, Dr. Haghkerdar was standing out in front of the building arguing loudly on his phone with someone. I went to a more reputable Dentist in West Lebanon and was told the x-rays were poorly done (I had requested records to take to my new dentist), the pocket measurements were completely inaccurate, and I had no cavities. I just needed a regular cleaning. Put in a complaint with the BBB, after which Dr. Haghkerdar offered to do a light cleaning. Needless to say, I wouldn't let him anywhere near me again. Like the other one-star reviewer, I and my husband were told that we had deep problematic pockets and tons of cavities where previously there had been none. Also like the other reviewer, we eventually went elsewhere and learned that none of this was true. Unlike the other reviewer, we bought into Dr. Haghkedar's schtick for over a year and spent a lot of money on totally unnecessary and painful procedures. I've been meaning to write to whatever licensing board dentists in VT have, but I've actually been hardly able to face the fact that I let myself and my husband be so exploited. I even wonder whether he might have a personality disorder, the experience was so completely unethical.
