Terrible! Similarly awful story as the rest of the negative reviews. He met me at Hooters for our initial meeting. We had wings and beer and talked about the case, and he advised that worst-case scenario I was probably looking at a fine and some community service. We wrapped up, the bill comes and he just stares at me...after I just gave him a check for $1,600! LOL He tells me that he will pick up the check next time. I should have listened to the voice in my head and took my paperwork and check back right then, but because he was recommended by a friend of my mother's I moved forward.
Time passes, a few court dates come and go, getting pushed back every time. He suggests that I get evaluated by a shrink so I can be cleared as not being a threat to myself or others. Another $1,500. I think it was the doctor who gave him a 5-star rating and review, but I can't confirm that. I ask him for updates, and like everyone else experienced, he was hard to reach, mostly I talked to his assistant, and when I did reach him he didn't have much to offer by way of any sort of real information.
Eventually one of the times that I went to court we actually went ahead with things and then, about 30 minutes before the case is heard, he tells me that the prosecution has offered me a misdemeanor plea including a few weeks of jail time or I can let the judge decide, in which case I could be facing up to a year. This is the first I am learning of any of this, 30 minutes before my case is to be heard. I rejected the plea because I couldn't afford to lose my security clearance. Once the proceedings started, he gave a brief summary of what happened and gave about 30 seconds of support for why I shouldn't go to jail. LOL I ended up having to give an impromptu speech to the judge in open court for my freedom. I ended up getting 200 hours of community service and a few days in jail, and upon completion the charges went away as if the incident had never happened.
He basically didn't do anything, AND on top of that my property (worth $800) was never returned, even after completion of community service and dismissal of charges. I called about getting my property back and he had his assistant tell me that I couldn't get it back without any real explanation as to why.
I do not know how this guy is still practicing law. Definitely a scam artist. Whoever gave him 5-stars must be a drinking buddy, partner in crime or both.
Hopefully by writing this review I can save anyone else from going through the same experience. read more
