Washed out Drainage Ditch Repairs: Ryan promised a perfect solution to our rain washed out drainage…read moreditch from a 3" to 4" rainfall in July 2024. We signed the agreement in August 2024 and were scheduled for work in October 2024. After postponing the work several times from original date, they did the work in January 2025 when it was freezing cold and snowing. They installed boulders on the edges and replaced rip-rap on about 250 linear feet of drainage ditch. With the first heavy rainfall in February 2025, we discovered huge hollows and holes under the boulders where the rainwater washed under and to the outside of the ditch, then returned back into the ditch, covering the rip-rap with mud; then down to our neighbors yard. These latent defects were not visible when his team finished. After much consideration, in March we called for him to take a look. His answer was "We don't warranty our work! If we do any more work, you must pay for it." We are in our 70's and are making corrections to his $17K repairs of the ditch. With each heavy rain we discover more locations where water flows under the boulders and washes mud out along the outside of the ditch. The work was generally good aesthetically, but would have been much better had these holes not been underneath. Ultimately, the attitude we received from him was the worst part.

We had asked them to put the trees on the ground and cut them up. They offered several options for how to deal with the limbs and trunks with prices for each option. We clarified a few details and scheduled the work. We had arranged for removal of 8 mature pines and a declining maple all close to our house. The Stewart brothers showed up as scheduled with only a pickup, some chain saws, some ropes, and a few hand tools. They set about the job, and it was a pleasure to watch. When you know a little about how to do a job, it's a genuine pleasure to watch how professionals do it. Danny and Jeff seemed to know what the other was thinking all along the way with a minimum of discussion. It was remarkable how well they could target where a large tree would fall. They just picked a place for it to go and put it there with an economy of effort. When other nearby trees could affect the work or be affected by the work, they knew how to minimize injury. At the end of the day they had done everything they had said they would do at a price far less than we had originally imagined. In addition to doing a professional job, they were a pleasure to have around. They kept us informed about anything we may not have anticipated and were congenial as they went about the work. We were so satisfied that before they left we asked them to come back and put two more trees on the ground. They did that while we were away, again doing a great job.
