This newly renovated store just gleams and shines in all the right places for you to fork over that credit card in favour of pricey and beautiful pair of shoes. This store is fairly large and curated very nicely on the upper eschlon of barely affordable shoes. It's not as posh as Holt Renfew or low brow as B2 but most shoes or boots start at the $180 level. Brand names such as DKNY, Geox, La Canadienne, Kors by Michael Kors, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Cole Haan mostly fill the spots around the store. There are a few brands that make the occasional shopper gasp (in horror of the price tag) and you'll find them in special shelves. Stuart Weitzman is one of those brands.
I happen to like this store because it's quite open and does tend to stock shoe designs that favour me. High heels, knee high boots, and sexy sandals.... there seems to be a lot of it compared to other stores. The Square One store has a lot of flats, basic designs, and lower price point/brands. There are of associates in this particular store. Even at the moment of Saturday opening, you see at least 4 associates all ready to assist potential shoppers. The only thing I don't like about them is that they feel a bit like vultures. They're all males, late 30s, and they stare at you like they do in Europe. I'm not sure if it's the same purpose or to discern whether you're willing to part your dollars for a pair of shoes. Either way, it can be disconcerting when there's a group of them all looking at you at once and whispering. Otherwise, service is fine... though don't expect them to be organized in the afternoon. I made the mistake of trying to buy shoes on a Saturday afternoon and found the service completely chaotic as well to do lunch ladies vied for the newest crop of shoe.
Overall, it's a great store to window shop and they do have great sales at the end of the season. If you fit larger or smaller sizes, it's ideal since you'll always find your size. This particular store has a lot of the larger sizes available at the end of the season. read more
