I visited Famous Footware on State Street Rockford last night around 8:50pm. I was looking for a…read morepair of dress shoes and a pair of sneakers. I found both and had some assistance from an employee. I then went up to check out. The nice employee that assisted me was waiting, she got barged out of the way by an older lady, she said I'll take it from here. The older lady asked me if I found everything okay... I told here yes all but the laces on the sneaker are gray and I would prefer white. She indicated to me that replacement laces are sold here. I asked if they could be included since I was buying 2 pairs of shoes... not much to ask. The older lady then proceeded to tell me did I want her to loose her job and that she loves selling shoes. Big mistake! I asked how much the laces cost, she said $2.50, I asked one more time "you are really going to loose my business today and in the future over $2.50 laces?" she said yes and was very stern about it. (Strike 1) I was quite disturbed that the associate that had attended to me on (2) separate occasions that night was being forced out of a sale (Strike 2) No flexibility and obvious frustration that it was now past 9pm closing time. (Strike 3) Horrible customer service and me wasting my valuable time trying on shoe and wanting to spend my hard earned cash. I am also in sales a Manager, just I sell Automobiles that cost thousands of dollars, if I treated a customer buying a car the way I was treated last night that would not only be unacceptable, but would be missing on thousands of dollars over the hundred or so that I was about to spend. Perhaps a person like the older lady that I encountered doesn't think that loosing a hundred dollar sale matters, but I bet the owners of Famous Footwear do. I'm going shopping today elsewhere and I bet if the sneakers at another store are gray they will give me white ones.

I wanted to relate a story about this Kohl's location. I desperately needed a tie for a job…read moreinterview first thing in the morning. I showed up at 8:59 PM. They haven't locked the doors yet, but they had already closed out the registers. I told the kid I wouldn't be more than two minutes I just needed to snatch up a tie, and he was so nice. I know he did not have to do it, but he opened up his register and allowed me to run back and grab a tie, totally saved my day. Great customer service, and I am eternally thankful.

For the first time today they wouldn't accept my expired Kohl's cash which is extremely annoying. My kids don't need new clothes every month and it was only 2 weeks expired. You would think they would not want to alienate good customers because as of right now I don't ever want to go back.

She was about 20 mins late, snobbish/snotty, and didn't even due a full walk through. She walked in and saw the living/dining room, family room and stopped at kitchen. Said it was not going to work as there is too much stuff and too much cleaning needs to happen. Was here for about 10 mins and left. Very unprofessional!

We tend to stop every 6 months or so (my boys go through shoes!) and she has always taken the time to help us and goes the extra mile! I would (and do!) go back for any shoe needs! We had a recent "emergency shoe need" when my oldest had a hole in the sole of his shoes and she even stayed a little late (past closing) to help us and make sure he got the right shoe and a good fit!
