That is 3 hours of fishing total! And then the captain would stay at a spot for 2 minutes before making us pull back up. Even though the entire bit of 25 people only caught 3 fish, the mate was helpful. I don't expect to catch fish every time I go, but on every other party boat I am on, you're dropping your lines 20-30 minutes after you start sailing. What's the point in getting out there early if you aren't even going to start fishing? The captain pull his engines in economy mode or something because he was going to damn slow to save fuel. I recommend the captain to either stick to the Raritan bay so he doesn't haven't go far, or speed it up. It wasn't even a choppy day either, it was 80, sunny, and gorgeous! I'm sticking to something out of the highlands next time.

It was a…read morevery straightforward set up - check in and get your life vests, take their shuttle bus to the starting point on the river, get whatever style tube you paid for (we chose tubes with backrests and one cooler tube), and get out on the water! We slowly floated down the river, listened to music on our small portable speaker, swam around, made a short stop along a rocky bank at the edge of the water, and got to the end point after just over 3 hours. We got the shuttle bus back to the Twin Rivers office to drop off the life vests, then went back to our car in the parking deck right across the street. Very simple, and lots of fun!

I was tired of groups where people just wanted to paddle and go home. Here, day trips always have a Happy Hour tailgate party where folks share snacks and stories. I've heard the camping trips are fantastic. I was afraid to sign up when my skills were new, but the instructional weekend keeps giving...people keep coaching and helping. Or, you can also be in a tandem canoe with an expert. That's how I broke into moving and whitewater adventures.
