The colour I has asked for was a level 4 brown, which isnt too hard as I'm naturally a level 3 brown. Anyhow after the colour was washed out of my hair and my hair dried, imagine my horror when I saw that my roots were orange and my hair was dark brown. The woman who did this then tried to dye my roots to match the rest of my hair ( a horrid dark brown), but it didn't do anything. I was so upset and what made it worse was the fact that I got charged the full amount. When I washed my hair after 2 days, my hair was coming out in clumps. I was in tears. I went to the Ginger group of hair salons and not only did they save my colour , they gave me to Alterna hair products to help limit the damage to my hair and stop more from falling out. I will never forgive Bhartis hair salon for what they did.

Overall I would give it a 7/10.

Upon entrance the Mrs and I were accosted by a very rude woman who simply said 'no' before we had a chance to speak. Now, despite this place being a barbers the Mrs has been here several times before and never had a problem. She's never asked for a Brazilian blow dry and all she needs is a bit of a trim on her short hair. After this abrupt introduction I was ready to walk out after the millionth time she jibed ' we don't cut women's hair' thinking fair enough. However there was one gent (who needs a raise) who had no problem and went to it straight away. This is clearly a place for unskilled hairdressers masquerading as a barber's. If what you want can't be measured in numbers and produced in 5 mins by clippers don't come. If you literally want a quick hack then this is your place. For a quirky barbers, full of interesting tack and sarcastic signs on the wall it seems to be devoid of all character. The female staff were just plain Rude. The man however was happy to give the Mrs a trim realising that any custom on a Saturday afternoon, male or female would be better than none. So the Mrs got her cut, and the guy who did it was a delight, but at £15 for a six min trim, there are cheaper and more plesant places to go.

I really did feel uncomfortable. I mean, they could've attempted to look busy. The cut was ok. But for reasons mentioned above I won't be going back there. Mostly I was quoted a price over £15, often over £20. I don't mean to sound like a skinflint, and for a good haircut I don't mind shelling out the money, but the exchange rate from US dollars to GBP means that a quick trim was looking pricey. The I found Alan D School of Hairdressing. Here's the deal - you ring them up using the number on their web page and ask for a student haircut. You'll be given a few time slots during the week, pick one, and make an appointment. Turn up on time to their studio just off Oxford Circus and let them know what you're there for. You'll be asked to sign a contact saying that you can't sue even if a terrible accident involving your hair and a pair off scissors happens, and then you hand over £3 (yes that's all!). You'll be led down stairs, handed over to a student hairdresser who with a teacher will consider what you want done, make some decisions, and then you're off to a shampooing/conditioning/ haircuting/blowdrying treatment. A word of caution: the students are not always experts and they have little investment in the result of your haircut, so while it's a good bargain, be cautious. The teachers are sometimes stretched thin and are not always watchful. A trim is fine but if you want to try something bold, look elsewhere. (Or be prepared just in case an accident happens).

You have to be prepared for a no frills environment but the price you pay by far makes up for the slightly shabby interior. OK it took 2.5hours but that's about how long it normally takes, you don't get offered a drink so maybe take your own if that worries you but I swear to God I've got the best haircut I've had for a very very long time.
