Dr. Lorefice also belittled and gaslighted me and was condescending, invalidating, and dismissive, often adopting a tone more appropriate for a therapist, even though he is not one. It was the most vile appointment I've ever had with a psychiatrist. I began advocating for myself in response to his condescending and invalidating tone, but the consultation still took a troubling turn toward the end. In what I believed to be a confidential medical setting, I disclosed that I live in an emotionally abusive household. Despite the sensitive nature of this information, Dr. Lorefice asked if he could ask my mother (who drove me only because I am recovering from stomach surgery and could not drive at the moment) a few questions after asking me some. I agreed, assuming he intended to ask general health questions or discuss logistics. However, once she entered the room, he proceeded to tell my mom, in front of me, that I said that there was emotional abuse happening at home as well as his personal opinions of my situation after asking her questions about me. I was shocked and deeply distressed by this disclosure, which left me feeling exposed and unsafe in both the appointment and my home environment. This disclosure was not only a breach of my confidentiality and HIPAA protections, but also an action that could have seriously endangered my emotional and physical safety at home. As an adult (24 years old), my health information is protected under the HIPAA, which prohibits covered entities from disclosing protected health information (PHI) without explicit, informed consent. This incident has led me to question how many other patients may have been placed in similarly unsafe situations by Dr. Lorefice's actions. I find this conduct to be deeply inappropriate and dangerous, and I believe this review is important to warn people that he is not professional and was in fact harmful to me.

They have helped with diagnosing and treating rare and/ or difficult conditions such as Periodic Fever Syndrome PFAPA (106 F monthly fevers that were brought under control), ARFID, ADHD, scoliosis, and anxiety. The doctors are exceptionally caring, take their time with each child and made referrals to specialists as needed, helped us with medical forms for schools, prescriptions and guidance when traveling. Reaching them after hours and on weekends is easy as there are doctors always on call. They follow up about care with other specialists and keep excellent medical records. It can sometimes be busy at the practice but wait times to be seen are short and I can usually get appointments for sick visits rather quickly. They do a great job of scheduling visits. There is one new person in the front office for those who have concerns, and they are helpful. I've had no issues in general though, if I'm put on hold for more than a few minutes, I call again and get through. I do find its easier to reach them now.

It seems that the practice has let them ruin their reputation from the last few reviews. The office manager Vicki is great- but the two that are at the window and answer phones most of the time need to go. My family is also second generation here and it's sad that it's come to this. Our kids have been there for five years and either we don't get call backs, records are delayed or you are treated like crap. In fact guaranteed you will be treated like crap when you walk in. We've just moved and it's actually unbelievable how rude the front desk has been on EMAIL when responding to record requests. Responding in terse short sentences no matter how polite I am and even cutting me off mid sentence when I call. They need to find a new job- it's not fair all the patients are bullied into finding a new practice.
