BROWN SUGAR MADE ME CRY
I was sent away from hairdressing salon Brown Sugar, for being 12 minutes late !
Yes I lie not, even a traffic warden will give a minimum 15 minute grace period...
The appointment was for 3pm and at 3.10pm I was running down the main street in Blackrock, having parked my car and paid for 3 hours parking when my iPhone rang.
The hairdresser was waiting at reception with her phone in hand and an appointment book. Looking in her book she said 'YOU'RE LATE, I WILL HAVE TO RESCHEDULE YOU!"
I thought she was joking . I replied "if necessary someone else can do the treatment." (I was having a keratin treatment)
But she was adamant. "No, you will have to reschedule."
At this stage I was told about the next lady that was due, who was never late!
I mentioned how many times I was left waiting over the past 7 years as a regular customer of this salon. I never made a complaint, even when under pressure to get back to work, which was often the case.
I left defeated, distressed and shocked, having gone to so much trouble to be there and having rescheduled work appointments in the middle of a busy Monday.
There was a history to this appointment, it had taken three phone calls and one month to arrange, all on Brown Sugars terms.
1. When I first made the appointment the girl on reception said they would ring to confirm nearer the date but failed to do so. I phoned again, in the middle of rescheduling my work day to make the appointment, to be told they were out of the product and I would have to make another appointment.
2. Now, here I was 4 weeks after the first attempt at securing an apointment only to be told I would have to reschedule again....
There is a bit of a pattern here, it all sounded so familiar. Of course in Brown Sugar world it is my fault I was 12 minutes late!
The AREA MANAGER phoned the next day to HEAR MY SIDE OF THE STORY.
She tried to justify what happened but I told her I would never be back! read more
