Success at Trebach Realty! My husband and I recently moved…read moreto Riverdale from Manhattan so that we could have more space and be in close proximity to schools. We had gone to other 2 agencies prior to Trebach and were really given the run around. It was very discouraging. We had our specifications and the other agencies showed us every but what we wanted. Trebach Realty was a breath of fresh air. They are a family business which we later found out were a staple to the neighborhood. We dealt with Pamela Trebach (the daughter). She keyed in on exactly what our needs were. She showed us 10 properties over a period of weeks that were in our price and Bingo! We found a beautiful colonial home. The prior owners lived there for 35 years. The house has great bones and we are in the process of slowly renovating it. We feel that Trebach Realty was "meant to be".

This review is for Grant Chang…read more I was out of town (and in an entirely different timezone) for the entirety of the process, my flatmate was the only one here to look at apartments. I expected this to make things really hard, but that certainly wasn't the case with Grant. He was incredibly diligent in getting me to send the right documents before I began the majority of my travel so I didn't have to worry about it while traveling, and showed my flatmate to a variety of great value apartments in the neighborhoods we were looking in. He responded at what seemed like all-hours and instantaneously. I love where I live now, and that's thanks to Grant!

tl;dr (1) DON'T use citihabitats, they have no authority over their agents' misconduct, and (2)…read moreWALK AWAY if your agent is Michael Jeneralczuk. My review is for Michael Jeneralczuk, an agent who scammed and pressured me into signing a lease. Michael is an extremely charismatic and skilled broker, unfortunately to only HIS advantage. Every day after showing my friend and I a few apartments, he would rush us into "applying immediately" before it went off-market. Amusingly, each time we were rejected, it was because the apartment was off-market even BEFORE we submitted ($$ and paid for $$) our applications. Fun! We wasted hundreds of dollars applying to unavailable apartments thanks to Michael. Finally, we chose another broker who promised to cover our application fees if we were approved for a building. When we told Michael of our decision to go with someone else, he offered to match the offer and pay for our application fee as well. I guess because we seemed unsure, Michael then started threatening us. He told us that he called the building to "register" us, and that the building would bar us from signing with any broker besides him. Not wanting to lose the apartment we finally liked, we nervously signed with him, thinking this was some NYC building-to-broker policy. We found out later from the property manager that this was also a lie. We signed the papers and demanded Michael keep his end of the promise to pay our application fees. In response, Michael disappeared. He ghosted us -- how original. We've called, texted and emailed but never heard from him again. We contacted citihabitats who kept promising that Michael would call us or email us, but it's been 6 months. Citihabitats finally just told us they were sorry, they have no control over the actions of their agents. The entire process was shady and uncomfortable. My advice is to steer clear of Citihabitats and don't be fooled by a seemingly kind agent.

I couldn't agree more with the other review - from start to FINISH City Match Realty, and…read morespecifically Liat and Nicole were incrediblyy helpful. I had no worries or concerns in my process of finding and signing my current lease. Every step of the way every piece of information or documentation I needed to provide or needed to be provided to me was arranged clearly, thoroughly, and transparently by Liat at City Match. The organization is entirely respectful and professional and yet somehow made the process so easy and lighthearted. But most of all, they seemed to understand that trust in a realty company is built, not just given and they provide the backing to show they deserve it. This was my first time finding and signing a lease without friends or family doing the leg work, and I was completely nervous. But I was scoped out and picked up by Nicole through the Roomie app and she put me immediately in contact with all the necessary information for a beautiful PICTURE PERFECT apartment, one that I had truly been visualizing in my mind and hoped to find at my price range and was so shocked to find. I was immediately taken on a viewing without any hidden "broker's fees" or servicing fees. The financial aspect of the entire situation was completely transparent - which is incredibly very difficult to find in NYC. There are so many who are eager to haggle you at the end of every corner in the Realty business. But at every moment, if I had a question, Liat was immediately there to answer mine or my family's questions (I had co-signers). She understood the urgency and level of seriousness that goes into making the commitment to signing, and provided the care and information needed to make me feel secure and properly taken care of in the business process. And on top of that, she is incredibly kind and gracious. Since having moved in to my apartment in Brooklyn/Ridgewood back in August 2018, I can say I 100% recommend City Match Realty, and feel they stand apart from all other Realty organizations in their integrity, kindness, and organization. Thank you for all your efforts City Match Realty! Especially Liat, for removing all the unnecessary anxiety from the process and peacefully me landing me into a beautiful apartment.
